Well, another reset night. Lets see how this one goes!

Well, frustration can sometimes breed some awesome moments. Like holding your garrison with like 15 people vs at least 60 man zerg and winning while outnumbered 4 to 1

It was a decent tactical decision by ET, hitting a garrison in the last mins before reset is good, but once again their reputation of charging in without thinking has been rightfully earned. A zerg ca also be wiped if you’re not careful.

I don’t know why ArenaNet is putting all of their effort into culling when there are more game-breaking things out there like imbalanced tiers.

im not super familiar with your situation in tier 8 but …the buck has to stop somewhere. My question is this…is your population (wvw wise) super low and thats why your ratings are so low? or is it something else? it seems the bottom 2 are almost identical in points..while the Green Server in t8 is Way Above …

if its population its kinda tricky….because very few people will transfer to a server that is getting its teeth kicked in nightly. Maybe in tier 8 only they can implement a buff that gives the underdog teams some useful benefits and atleast gives em a chance to fight for first in their tier. or …..sadly . call those servers “deserted” and make them xfer to a server of their choice in the next tier up and close the others down.

Culling affect the game as a whole… And not all tier are imbalanced… The fix of culling will reach more people.

Yes this can all be frustrating, to become burned out from having to put out more effort than usual to hold objectives/take objectives. But look on the brightside from this whole experience. Use this time to hone a style your own: be if fast and very mobile guerrila forces, staunch and stubborn band of defenders who learn where to place untargetable siege/unique places for siege to defend.

I get burned out amd frustrated, but after a little break (this can help) it can help with the frustration and burned out feeling. But in the long run i take these many months of being outnumbered (from DR→KAIN→SF) [not complaining] it helped make me and those who tend to mob up around me when i roam/defend better skirmishers, and to help teach siege placement, and funny ways to use the flame ram for defense.

So in the end it can be annoying, but eventually you get back up and continue moving forward as playstyles evolve, and you can help train people.

Sidenote: tempted to join the vanguard, i love roaming, but i think its time to have squads running around

The easiest way to explain it, is in the glicko matchmaking everyone has a cumulative score that persists week to week, and the points you gain/lose is based comparatively against the other servers in the matchup. This is what determines your place in the matchmaking ladder, nothing else, this isn’t a numbers/server strength issue that has created the situation. Not having a cap on how high/low the cumulative score can get is what has broken the matchmaking.

The cumulative score for FC and ET is ridiculously low, largely due to transfers and lopsided matchups prior to free transfers ending. The cumulative score is so low in fact, that the winning server (sorrows) is -expected- to win by a ridiculous landslide since the matchmaking see’s our very low cumulative score vs their much much higher cumulative score from past matchups. Whether ET and FC would get beaten by someone from the next tier up if they dropped and SF ascended remains to be seen, but a stale matchup from a force that has become far too strong for the bracket is the other solution which no one wants.

So, long story short, tier 8 is a black hole

Lol…If ET didn’t vastly outnumber FC there would be a different conversation. As stated before when ET was red there was only talk to have an alliance with FC but now things have changed once they pulled into second. Well if anything FC needs more recruits going in and if any FC transfer out….we will welcome you guys as our own and not consider you cannon fodder.

lol cannon fodder thing was a joke. The only thing that really seems like it would help right now is to take the 2 least populated servers and join them together so we can actually compete with other servers. That ET/FC alliance was a stupid idea I thought and almost no one committed to it on either side, lol go figure, we all hate sharing. Either way, they have to do something about T8 at some point and forcing ET and FC to become one server just makes sense since the biggest reason(not the only one but definately the biggest) we keep getting stomped by every server that joins us down here is because we don’t have the numbers. FYI the only reason we outnumber FC is because they almost all stopped playing once they fell into last place a few weeks ago.

Another reset night ruined by Sorrow’s Furnace. ArenaNet really needs to acknowledge that Sorrow’s Furnace is not Tier 8 material, their numbers are far more superior than ours. They need to go now, we cannot wait any longer, 10 weeks is enough!

Actually, that’s arguably untrue. ET/FC/HoD are all “High” population, the other NA servers are “Very High.” Now, if we even assume that in every server’s populace, say 5-10% are heavy WvWers, then indeed: It would seem HoD would be an even fit.

Except HoD seems to be handling T7 quite nicely, so unless for some reason SF is better than T7 level (I doubt it), HoD is going to give you a hiding as well.

People don’t just do magically well when they reach high tiers. Look at SoR.

Devs should just merge these servers in with T3-5 realms…whatever is most balanced.

There is no reason for the extra servers when the battles are so ‘insignificant’… truly… how much of burden could it be?

Problem is, Dhar – that merely transfers the “Glicko Ghetto” to T7. A better idea would be to reconfigure the system to allocate matchups based on WvW population only. I have a hunch that it instead goes by total server population, more than anything else. Also, it does need to be a certain degree more fluid, RE: population shifting.

God if only Anet had kittenING done something when I told them about this issue over 2 kittening months ago. Now all the T8 servers are officially kittened over because Anet couldn’t give a kitten.

Why are there so many Kittens in here? lol Fixing the Glicko scoring won’t do much but make it more painfully obvious how little WvW population ET and FC actually have. Different Equation, same problem. The only other tier I’ve ever heard of complaining about gliko is T1 and obviously if your in T1 your at the top so there’s not really anywhere for you to go unless you take a vacation. Seriously where did this stupid Kitten thing come from?

If you played any other server ever you’d know there’s not that big of a population gap.

This is the population distribution on Saturday midnight EST. Based simply off server population being proportional to wvw strength, HoD should be down here with ET and FC.

And before someone come saying “Server Population isn’t WvW population”, mind that if I have 2000 players, it’s easier to have 500 WvW’ers than if I have only 800 players.

HoD is actually in the Lead in T7 so doesn’t really make any sense, if anything proves the opposite of what is being said.
