To me, the Dolyak walk was like the Xmas truce. In the spirit of Xmas, it was to show that despite fighting each other, we respect each other. Especially TC, which has been a great server to fight and learn from.

And I’m very saddened to hear that FA knew about it, and instead of taking the opportunity to capture towers and keeps, which is the aim of WvW, they decided to grief people who were inspired by the Dolyak Walk.

I respected FA to a certain level before, but now it seems like you guys are more similar to Magooma.

Eh, I feel like changing my signature like that is disrespectful to our FA bros. They weren’t being stupid (like Custer), they were just playing the game. That’s basically how WvW goes. I expected something to happen during the dolyak parade. Seriously, holding events in a PvP area is just asking for trouble. Take this for example:

I’m not saying that all events end like this, but from my experience, holding an event in a PvP zone isn’t a good idea. Sometimes people just say, “screw it,” and attack. Other times people don’t read the forums and attack because everyone else is. FA’s just doing what it naturally does. I don’t blame them for that. I still think the fallout of the parade is friggin’ hilarious though, lol.

If you TCs could convince your commander to focus on FA at oceanic time. I will try to convince ours to do the same ( I am oceanic player). This should be fun

I respect your opinion on this with regards to the first 2 paragraphs. However with many FA also turning up for the event, I wouldn’t paint whole FA as griefers, except these few. If they wanted to prove something, they could’ve ninja capped a tower or hell, a keep maybe? TC/CD would’ve loved to take them back or die while trying. There were many other players from TC & CD that didn’t turn up for the event and were on a diff map, they could’ve fought them over there. This WAS A PEACEWALK, for a very brief time. They knew it. Yet they decided to camp exactly at that spot and kill non-hostile people because they wanted free badges without actually fighting.

The main objective was completed. Italucuc escorted – as a dolyak himself – the intended dolyak to the keep without dying or without the Clovenhorn (that is the name of the southernmost dolyak) dying. It was an enemy dolyak being escorted to an enemy keep, but the event was about getting the dolyak from point a to point b and have fun. To me, that is what matters. In the end, Team Dolyak secures victory!

I for one had no doubt that there would be people trolling the event, so I was glad that there was a bit of a lead up to it with people gathering behind the camp and chit chatting or dueling or what have you. It was a lovely time. The screencaps of the dolyaks with all the fireworks is hilarious.

In general TC spends oceanic time cowering in our corner hoping we don’t lose everything to CD. But I’m sure our guys can take a hint if there is a change of dynamics

Everyone who attacks FA borderland should do so with a DOLY tag, and the fighting should not stop until the last FA resistance walks out of their spawn, /kneels and then represents guild DOLY in front of us a way of showing the white flag.

Let me just clear up some of the misinformation.

1. We were aware you were doing this at about 7pm EST. I was quite clear with the FA rep that PD would not be participating and if we were in the area we would be killing any red named person in our way.

2. At the time of your ‘gathering’, we wanted the southern supply camp and killed whomever we could to gain that objective.

3. 15 minutes prior to your parade hitting the ruins, we had just cleared 20 TC with siege off the island and had set up our own ballistas.

4. It was really fun to shoot you all and get loot.

5. When Online messaged me to ask me to stop, we did and I even escorted the remaining dolyak and eagle to briar, saluted and went on about my business.

I honestly don’t give a single kitten if TC and CD want to team up on FA. I really, really don’t.

Thanks for bringing all 3 servers together on friendly grounds at one place even for a brief moment and for changing the mood on the forums as well. And yeah, @Awesomesauce, I read about the incidents that happened in WoW although never played it. I expected a lot more mature behavior from GW2 players. This game also seems to be plagued with 12 year olds unfortunately.

One advantage with Wintersday is each day’s events are playable if missed as long as Tixx is around. So they’re not one-time events and last quite long this time. This should give TC a hope to have more numbers over the weekend after reset.

That’s pretty accurate actually. I’ve seen tc throw their bodies at keep gates for hours getting stomped over and over and never give up. Personally I’d rather have fun killing than hitting auto run for 3hrs just to win.

Eh, there were enough people from mixed servers to get it right. It wasn’t something completely unfathomable to grasp and was supposed to be as one poster so eloquently stated, a Christmas truce .. a way of showing respect for each other after a rather intense week of rivalry. It was openly posted so folks WOULD know about it. Y’know?

And if you read the nonesense being posted by the perpetrators, well you get a pretty good idea of their moral character — so I suppose in a way you are right. It should have been expected. But I guess I was assuming we were all adults.

Also, I dont think I’ve ever seen chest thumping over killing people who dont fight back. Its actually a very sad sight, and I’m sorry that FA has to have their reputation hurt by this.

Obviously this was all a masterstroke trap created by FA to ruin the morale of TC and CD so they can get first place.

We really shouldn’t be blaming anyone here.
Every server has trolls, they were probably just not on or to late to join before there was a queue(and no I am not defending the people on FA who ruined the party).
We also can’t really have an event in a place like this without expecting to see these kind of people within a few minutes…sadly…

But I also don’t blame you guys for targeting FA now, but hey the people on FA have to be around them and all they can really do is scream in rage. I’m pretty sure if you put yourself in FA’s shoes you would be pretty disappointed.

Oh well I’m also kind of excited that TC and CD are now really pushing us cause I need the badges, sooooo lets just all have fun now without bringing anymore of this up on the forums, okay?

There were more fighting back than you’d like to think. I’d like to formally apologize to FA for ruining our reputation as whiners… now we’re griefers with no moral compass. I’m just glad we’ve had this all straightened out, and tomorrow… I’ll be holding a dolyak parade at 8PM est in CD BL. I’ll bring the fireworks on my ele.

It is a truism of online games, let alone PvP, that where the opportunity exists to mess around with any kind of organised event, people will take it.

The Dolyak Parade was an event in a WvW zone. Folks are entitled to shoot other people, as dispiriting or bothersome as that may be. It’s something you go in to such an event expecting. There’s always someone who wants to be contrary

It was still fun! It still displayed the spirit of co-operation between servers. The back and forth here between folks who were involved, and the folks from FA who wanted to interfere (and were entitled to so far as WvW is a PvP zone) isn’t going to achieve much.

Personally, I went back to EB and focused FA for 2 hours or so, taking and holding 3 of 4 towers. It would have been 4 of 4, with Veloka Slopes’ wall down from my treb, but CD took Ogrewatch off us a few min before we would have walked in to Veloka. ^^

Good luck to both CD and FA in the rematch tomorrow night.

Yeah I saw them fighting back. First your group ran up. About 7 people. Then all of you opened fire on him as he stood there as an animal wondering what happened to the cease fire. When he realized you were planning to kill him and he was almost dead he fired back. Then you moved on the the next guy. Congratulations, yes you are exactly what Odaman said above. FYI I won’t be attending your parade without a firearm, Odaman. From this point forward, none of your whining about zergs, jumping puzzles, or alliances will change my mind about dealing with FA players in the future.

I created the chaos. Why would we be in FABL when the fight was in CDBL? You’re making no sense. You had your silly parade in CDBL, where we had a planned event. There were several guilds there coordinating and rocking the west side. What makes this whole “CD and TC are going to double team you” announcement funny is you were doing it anyway! We were being hit by CD at the NW gate of AB while TC was laying siege to Briar. Any time I am in FABL, TC is running up our west side while CD is running the east. When we are in CDBL where do we find TC? All up in our business.

I’m not bragging about killing a bunch of clowns posing as Dolyaks walking across a bridge. I am not angry about it either. I am amused at the sudden outrage and new determination from TC that they’re gonna make me pay in some way for this. There were red names acting foolishly in the area we were fighting so we killed some. Before you decide to hold some peace walk on a hostile field of battle, you might want to make sure all parties agree. I know for a fact GODS doesn’t speak for PD.

We log on, we fight, we log off, we go to sleep. There is absolutely no way that any player from TC, or any other server, is going to affect my day in a negative fashion. You simply don’t have that ability. I’ll still be here tomorrow, leading my Purple Dragons into battle with you.

I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t there. But to not think SOMEONE, regardless of server wouldn’t have tried to spoil it? RPing is not my playstyle, and dislike it as a whole. If people want to whatever. I’m merely pointing out, if you host an event on a W3 map, you should expect hostility from someone (especially when you openly broadcast it.)

We knew about it, I read the forums, and quite frankly the JP are fare game as far as I’m concerned. Its also why you don’t see us crying about it. If people want to waste there time holding something that’s entirely irrelevant that’s cool.
