So as i see it the biggest problem with WvW is Free Server Switches. Anyone at any time can swap servers and over populate wvw. In Wvw if some side is starting to win inthe 1st 3 days of a new WVW session that server gets blown up with server ransfers and the next day is doubling their points and grabbing all the orbs and noone can stop them. Also the Hacks , Fly hack, speed hacks,god mode hackers, The ability to log out during combat or jusy Wp away. WvW has become a joke.
Heres how to fix it. Stop free server transfers. Get a admin on to watch the botts,hackers. Make it so tou need to kill off the lord of the keep before you take the orb.

I agree about free server transfers. It seems odd that ANet would pass up on such an opportunity to generate additional revenue, especially when the community is asking for it.

I realize they want friends to play together and that’s great. But currently free transfers are really getting in the way of building stable communities and the general health of the game.

Why can’t they simply give new accounts a 2 week grace period in which they can switch servers and after that, start charging for it. I’m not sure what the current Gem-rate is but roughly 8 dollars or 6 Euros is a fair price to pay for such a service.

And here i thought it was the people.
Anet will not stop it free and 1 per day.
All they care about is the DR and Nodes respawn rate and reducing player enjoyment.

This would create stability and a sense of community.
It would also make them $$.

Actually they are doing this pretty wisely. They left it wide open at the start so people could easily find and play with each other. They took a step to reduce it as a warning. People are choosing their servers now if they haven’t already. Except for the ship jumping losers of course.

Their next step will either be to reduce it further or make it cost. The goal is to do this in measured stages so as not to screw new people or legitimate early game transfers. As well as to warn people that they are indeed approaching completely locking it down.

I agree it causes WvW problems atm, but it’s for the health of the game in the long run. Any serious WvW player understands that the current merry go round is temporary and that bragging rights and match-ups are still way too early to call accurately.

It’ll likely take till the end of the year for things to settle down enough to really even out to a nice and stable equilibrium.

In a perfect world, that might happen. But it won’t since majority of players want to win at any cost so team stacking is the norm. Free transfers for the lose.

They didn’t assume that at all. The game is young and locking servers early is a bad move. Transfers won’t be free for much longer. Things have more or less had time to settle out. Which is why they have started to impose restrictions slowly.

They said that server transfers are not the cause of the imbalance although the cause of some griefing.

There is a timer that the persons character stays on the map even after logging.

If someone truly does disappear:
For me I had my EB Que pop when I turned the corner into a mob, I didn’t hesitate to click yes.
Some people have a teleport to point set and can make a quick and easy get away. That combined with cloaking.
And lastly a few people are teleport hacking.

Meh. TC WvWvW’ers are in it for the long haul. I am fine with free transfers staying open until 2 week matches. By then, people ought have gotten tired of their 3 hour queues at the top tier of the 1 week matches.

Anet is trying to let servers balance.

Some larger servers have had guilds transfer off them, had there been a fee plus the fact you lose all upgrades and influence, those servers would have never had people transfer off them and slowly even out smaller servers.

Yes tailcoat riders suck, everyone knows they do, but once your server loses they leave to the ones who won. Those are the people who should be charged right now, or the one’s which transfer every week to a new server.(Or every 3 days?)
