Two More QL Caps - Duo Thief
Everything Purple
Do you think Cloak and Dagger was meant to use on doors? Just curious.

Does damage to the door. You can even back stab a door if you want. You can CnD off siege and anything that can take damage from you so I would have to say yes. The only debatable thing is if they want you hitting a wall with CnD. But as you can see from the videos we never do that.

This is how a coordinated thieves guild, can actually beat a zerg :P

Are you referring to the skill or tons of players? I would hope the skill considering it only takes two players to do this.

Eh honestly thanks to videos like this one I am sure Anet will be nerfing stealth soon to prevent people form doing this. I mean lets face it people started complaining about stealth thieves holding cap points open because videos were being posted and everyone started doing it. Now that every scrub and his brother have been shown how easy this is too I expect to see an influx in it’s use followed by a swift and probably painful nerf to stealth, or stealth stacking.
Honestly though I have to say I am surprised this worked in T1… Although it was used on SBI which is now falling like a rock in the rating department. It is so easy to see the smoke zones on the ground and know a thief (or thief team) is there.

Right, but you’re not doing it to damage the door. It’s a neat use of mechanics but I wouldn’t expect to see this remain unchanged.

Nerf what lol ? You said it yourself “It is so easy to see the smoke zones on the ground and know a thief (or thief team) is there”. Dont blame stealth if other ppl cant see huge houses and red zones inside their keep.
Oh and for the thief in that video: You, sir, are a clicker! (no offence intended)

You should come to a T1 server. You will never see 100/100 supplies on a wooden tower with no siege placed and no people defending it.
Catalin Puf (Human Elementalist)
Catalin Elf (Sylvari Thief)
What are you going on about kfarb? I would say since you can damage doors, and they trigger the revealed mechanic, it’s not a problem.

It was not very hard to counter a thief holding open a supply camp or keep either but they still nerfed it. Yes it is easy to spot them on the ground, but there are some areas of a tower/keep that people just don’t check because there is no reason to. There is no place for something like a mesmer to hide because they are out in the open. I mean lets face it a mesmer could be dead on outer or inner wall on a keep and a single thief could in effect stay perma stealth like this and then res the mes and bring in an army. And even though effects are very easy to see they are extremely mobile so you can simply do them on the run out of the range of everyone. And with 50% movement speed while stealthed you can outrun anything.

We probably could prove to do it in T1, and the reason is quite simple as to why, because the other servers do not know when or where we will strike. That uncertainty would be enough. Just my two sense there.
@kfarb
Just because we are not backstabbing the wall because you think we should, does not make something broken. Should Mesmers not be allowed to throw down their illusions on a gate? Or a Ranger have their pet attack a gate? Or an Elementalist’s or Necromancer’s summons attack a gate? Or a Guardian’s weapon skills attack a gate? Or an Engineer’s turrets attack a gate? … I got nothin’ for Warrior :‘(. Point is, simply because you think something should be done in a certain way, does not make it the only right way. We’re Divergent thinkers here.
Oh dear. I really don’t see a reason why this should be nerfed. Its good use of combo fields and our weapon set to counter zergish crap.
Everything Purple
Kind of embarrassing for those SoR members that let you pull that off. Good job though, I guess. Goes to show why thieves get away with so many ‘broken’ activities. People having no idea about their stealth animations and/or abilities. You probably could have gotten away with taking that tower without even doing the stealth stacking below lords room.
Nothing really needs to be nerfed. People need to pay attention to their screen.
Hell no, what if I like watch soap operas while sieging ?

Exactly. I’m so tired of people asking for Thief nerfs when they should be either a) improving their play or b) more attentive. It’s not cheating. It’s not exploiting. It’s using class mechanics to outsmart opponents.
…Maybe that’s the problem. People hate getting outsmarted.
Kitten, even that person on the wall got ganked while they held it and didn’t… bring anybody? before waypointing out.
Great job you two!
Darkhaven
…beware the unicorns.
Actually I see some mistakes that need to be fixed, come on… don’t play the fool ppl :P, you think that edge walking on the wall was intended?, what about guild lords reaction? another thing that needs to be fixed he only does 2 attacks and goes on cd w/o attacking normally until their skills are ready again, I’m sorry you did a great job by avoiding that zerg and by taking advantage of game defects, after zerg mistake comes game mistakes you need both things to make it work :P is not only related to “mindless zergs”

I play a mesmer and often hide in keeps and towers. I don’t have a way to remain in permanent stealth in an open area so maybe I’m just jealous. But all of the things you mention are to deal damage and don’t give anyone stealth, which is the crux of it.
If you did it on npc’s or other players, I’d see nothing wrong with it. But doing it on inanimate objects strikes me as something that simply didn’t occur to the developers. A lot of people had differing opinions on thieves being able to do this and prevent a zerg from taking a supply camp and arenanet made it pretty clear how they felt. Now that you’re releasing these videos I think we’ll see more people doing it and (maybe, I could be wrong) a response.

In which server do you play?, this is pretty common in my tier, I always see failed zergs having perma stealth thieves hiding and a mesmer dead body just w8ing for the right moment to rez, this is not something new…
People miss mesmers on every server and tier when they’re tunnel-visioned or don’t find any defenders. Of course it’s nothing new to have a dead mesmer body camped because people know that thieves, engineers, warriors, and guardians can hide in places that mesmers cannot and res them later. None of this relates to my point, though.
Now that you’re releasing these videos I think we’ll see more people doing it and (maybe, I could be wrong) a response.
This post just bugs me srsly lol…. guys this ’ve been around for long enough, but we have some1 who thinks this is new and makes a video, and some1 else who think this will be a new wvw problem who happens to be a mesmer… play more wvw please ><, mesmer is the only class capable of flipping an entire map from the result of a portal mistake made by the other team I just find it quite ironic you complain about class unbalance ._.
See above. I’m not complaining about “class unbalance.” I realize it’s not new, but more and more people are discovering it. Just as more and more people discovered permanently halting a camp capture when that was nothing new (but the highly viewed video made more people aware of it). There are obviously a lot of ways to do what they’re doing without using CnD on a gate, and there is a reason that most stealth skills have a cooldown.
Anyone know why this thread was moved to linksville (rofl wut!?)

The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
