I’m curious as to why WvW doesn’t give an average time remaining or position in que? It’s utterly frustrating not knowing this information. Due to a full time job I have limited hours I can play and this is during prime time. I’d like to know around when I’ll get in so I don’t have to sit there staring at it forever hoping I don’t miss my que pop up. God help me that I don’t go to the bathroom and miss it popping only to come back thinking nothing happened and now I’m at the bottom of the que. Maybe one day it would be 15 minutes, but the next it will be an hour and not worth the wait. It would also be easier for guilds to coordinate a time to head to a zone if they knew the average wait and can pre-plan when to que.

I also would like to point out if you were to publish the average que time for each map it would improve everybody’s experience with ques. You could simply add it to the drop down box of the worlds when you hit “B”. Eternal Battlegrounds could show a que time of 45 minutes however a borderlands could be a 5 minute que. Currently nobody has any clue which zones have the longer que. If we knew the average times people could get into a map more quickly.

This is something that should be put in immediately. Maybe have a number telling you what position you are in the queue if estimating time is to difficult.

The problem is we’re not getting pops according to when we que. It’s not like you grab a ticket and they call your number in order… there are other factors here. There is some sort of “autobalance” that effects where you are placed in the que based on class and natural level.

There is no exact formula detailed on how they place people in the que, but people are NOT being placed in a linear order from when they qued. Adding a visible que display won’t work unless Arenanet changes the way they place players in the que.

How do you know this? If this is the case then they should just change it to a single file line and show your time. It seems pretty discriminatory to me. I don’t see why Joe the Plumber should have a shorter que time than me simply because he plays a norn mesmer.

Even if it is like though they can still figure it out. Even if there is some madness to it the computer still has order to it. It’s not just randomly picking people hopefully. They could have it display to each person based on their character how long estimated they have to wait.

I would love to see queue times. I would also like to see the ability to queue for all zones so that I can just get in anywhere. I’m not too picky on which zone I’m fighting in, I just want to be in and fighting.

on top of this, i would like to have a “dong” or whatever alarm when the join confirmation comes up. I do not want to know how many times i have missed it because being in windows or doing whatever else at home.

Stop and think about your question. Ok now can the answer be how do you know when someone will leave the World vs World map? if not think again

They don’t show your place in line because the system is too buggy. It’s not a true FIFO system.

If you had a place in line and it showed 100… 45…. 21…. 8… 4,329 how angry would you be?

It should be a FIFO and it should show your number. These long queues are putting a toll on the game.

Well, average wait time is what I’d expect, not a 100% accurate timer. Knowing that the average wait time for Borderlands 1 is 5 hours and the average wait time for Borderlands 2 is 20 minutes… I’d queue up for Borderlands 2. Alternately, showing how many people are queued for each zone would work (1,000 people are queued up for one Borderlands and 100 people are queued up for another, for example, would be incredibly helpful in choosing a queue).

Currently there is no real way to know which zone is likely to have a shorter queue time, so it’s a random wheel of luck.
