WvW character progression
I don’t know what calculation they will use, but I would guess that since upleveled characters tend to be weaker than fully traited and geared 80s, they will die more often and thus be worth fewer points. So indirectly, it will be the case.
Anyway, I’m sure that that point scheme is only in place to keep people from finding an isolated corner somewhere and farming WXP by trading kills in rapid succession.
My bigger question is will the WXP replace standard XP? Meaning you can no longer level in WvW? D=

The addition of the WvW progression system doesn’t impact regular character leveling at all. Characters will still get regular XP in the usual way and they’ll also get WXP so characters below level 80 can be leveled simultaneously while they advance their world rank.

Does the actual level of a player that you get a kill on affect the amount of WXP you earn at all? If I kill a level 2 that hadn’t been killed for an hour will I get the same WXP as I would killing a level 80 that hadn’t been killed for an hour?

Thanks! I feared the XP bar being replaced with a WvW progression bar like it is in PvP. I personally am excited for these changes… maybe my server will finally take a break from dungeons/fractals an play WvW a bit.

So, old WvW-players will not receive any rewards for their old achievments? And their WXP lvl will be ZERO like as any newbies who just came to WvW?

It’s BS, but we’ll have to take it because quite obviously Anet didn’t care about WvW for 7 months and that’s not likely to change.

Uh hello, they removed the one thing that made home BLs interesting like a month after release! Remember the orb that everyone couldn’t resist hacking!?

Please list “all those changes” in WvW since launch that you think significantly and positively affected game play. Seriously … amuse us.

- Changed WvW match cycle to 7 days → upgrading became more useful
- Removed Orbs → They brought unbalance to the match and was constantly hacked
- Fixed numerous places where you could glitch → no need to even explain why this was good
- Boon AoE limit → Made turtling not so effective
- AoE limit → On the other hand made turtling more effective, but AoE was too strong on occasions
These changes made a significant change to WvW. Were the changes good or bad, thats what you have to decide. Theres still more I probally forgot, but hey, you wanted somekind of a list

Also forgot the work they have been doing on culling almost the WHOLE time. They even released a test system in December. Just because it didn’t work out back then doesn’t mean they haven’t been working on it. In fact, it proves they care about the WvW experience; they just don’t care about it as much as PVE or sPVP is all.
