Is there a region that does not “participate” in daylight savings

Yeah, for instance Western Australia.

A large portion of the world does not participate in DST.

Arizona and Indiana don’t do DST

^Indiana does DST. I know since I lived there for four years and just recently graduated from IU. In the past though, they did not observe DST and to make things worse, historically they’ve gone from Central time to half-Central half-Eastern to now mostly Eastern, lol.

This is unfortunate, at least for those of us on the West Coast of North America. The 5 pm reset allowed most people to get home from work and get on before the hours lone queues started.

I hope ArenaNet reconsiders and moves the reset up one hour.

AZ and Hawaii do not use DST
(Before 2005, Indiana didn’t observe it.)

Russia decided not to move clocks anymore last year.

This means midnight for restart time and not 1 am – I like it

Long story short, daylight saving times are used by northern/southern latitudes to compensate for the fact their daylight hours become significantly shorter in the winter months.

As you approach equatorial latitudes the relative length of days are more stable and thus you don’t need DST. Just how pronouncedthe difference is can be quite a shock if you travel much :p

itd have been 11pm. this sucks. i hate dst.

also keep in mind while the northern hemisphere goes into DST the southern hemisphere leaves DST, making it a 2 hours swing (though the dates are different so its a stepped swing over a couple weeks).

so, in arizona, is it 5pm or 4pm?

Just remember that neither UTC nor Arizona observe DST. So Arizona (except for the parts of the Navajo Nation that do observe DST), will always be UTC -7 hours. Reset is 12am UTC.

The Amish don’t follow daylight savings time. However, they probably aren’t playing GW2 because they don’t use computers.

This is just a reminder that WvW matches roll over at 00:00 UTC and are thus not subject to daylight savings time. So, if you’re in a region that participates in daylight savings time then the matches will now roll over one hour earlier.

0:00 UTC on the dot? Not that it matters, but a week or two ago it was at about 0:20.

Who knows? Since they refuse to address the issue, there’s no telling. I guess we just get to wait and see. Fun.

so what day does all the score reset on i am waiting to change areas so that i can finish my world completion

When match reset time comes around the game lets the final score tick finish and then spends a bit of time preparing the next match. This process is initiated at 00:00 GMT, but as the last score tick can add up to 15 minutes the reset occurs a bit after that.

Would be great if you let us know that the daylight savings time actually didn’t roll over like this thread states. You know actually informing your paying customers? I know its hard to do but you guys can do it!

So the reset for WvW would be tomorrow at 00:00 UTC then? I’m pretty new and looking to change to a server moreso for pve rather than WvW, so I can get a handle on game mechanics and have a chance to lvl w/a group of people rather than solo most the game.
