Yeah I wish more people would understand this. No doubt you will be bombarded with hate and people complaining anyway. Honestly though my server is wining by a landslide now, we were actually down by like 10k points on the first couple nights into Saturday in our match, and I didn’t see anybody on the opposing servers complaining then, nor were we. So our alliance had a meeting and we organized, rallied and got our oceanic guys up in arms as well, and we turned around and our oceanics went and took most of the stuff then.
Now I also hear some of our opponents start to complain about our night team night capping them. Well you know what, I was there fighting your server as well on Friday and Saturday night as well, and I am NA, was up til like 5 AM fighting, and guess what. You guys had just as much resistance and people as we did. I don’t want to hear crap about how we outnumber you so much, you DID have a good overnight presence, and we had some amazing fights at night. Now, I know that Blackgate did end up losing at least one major guild, and that particular guild was one we saw a lot at night, so yeah that might have hurt you, but you know if you aren’t willing to get out there, find oceanic guilds interested in a good server, and organize yourself into at least a semblance of an alliance, there is no reason to be complaining.

Thus, no great principle is broken if at midnight very day WvW stops, or is modified, reset, using new scoring etc. We are only debating the degree of persistence WvW should have.
Any modification of the 24 hour cycle should, however, try to balance the best results for players who play at the different times.

Right now, it stops every week, not every two.
And the balancing will come in the coming months, as the matchmaking system has a chance to settle on stable server groupings. That probably won’t happen until a month or two after they disable free server transfers, though.
In other words, if you play on an NA server and can only play withing the 4pm – 12am time frame .. your efforts will matter very little towards the outcome of the match.
In other words you get 3 servers loaded into 4 maps full of people to pvp against and have fun while other timezone people get more buildings to knock down… I’ll swap places with you anytime.
To be honest, I really don’t care so much about winning or losing WvW based on points. I just want to logon and be able to have some awesome WvW battles.
So the only real problem I have is when servers are severely mismatched regarding population, because this makes it so one side is normally struggling to get out of their spawn while the other side is either spawn camping them, or laughing as they die horribly assaulting one tower.
This really isn’t fun to be on either side of. So my hope is that folks from the high pop servers migrate to the low pop ones.

Effectively changing WvW out of a 24hr cycle will limit certain players content. How about we flip this whole debate on the other side. How come my night time efforts are wasted, there shouldnt be day time capping. Theres certainly a population imbalance on every map due to the queing issue, so they should stop day time capping untl thats fixed. See how asinine that statement sounds
I suppose we just have to hope that in a few weeks the strong oceanic servers will only be faced against other strong oceanic servers. And maybe we can even hope that in the far future the oceanic populations will be more balanced across servers. Taking things back and having 50% of the map, only to wake up with 1% of the map is pretty disheartening. Or maybe the oceanics will just get bored of PVD (Player Vs Door) eventually.
I think people just need to accept that in a game with three sides, where PvP happens (or can happen) 24/7, two of those teams are going to lose. It’s okay to lose, it happens in every aspect of life, whether it be gaming or sport or standing in line at the coffee shop, someone will be in front of you at some stage.
