Hello this is a thread made to bring attention to what I think is exploiting. I was in WvW roaming when an elementalist attacked me. I found myself instantly rooted then knocked back, I thought nothing of it because that’s just what elementalist do. The Suspicion aroused when I was getting flung across the area 5 or so times within the next ten or so seconds of the fight. I was confused as to of what was happening until I saw a line of wooden planks being dropped by him. Sure enough after looking up wooden plank I found that you can buy them off a certain vendor (up to 250 stacks) and bring them into WvW.

I don’t know if this is already a known issue to most people or Arena-net but I hope it’s fixed soon.

You lose all the benefits of your gear and weapons when you equip those planks, meaning you can eat a huge crit if you’re not careful.

I, personally, have never used planks in WvW, but you can get a similar item off the tree creatures in Eternal. It’d be a shame to have fun items removed completely because one guy used them to spam/troll people. Disgraceful ele. We’re hated enough as it is.

True if the plank is just used once in a fight it’s not really a big deal, it’s when the weapon is spammed it becomes a problem. However there are some environmental weapons being used by multiple players that being used just once is game breaking. Things such as the metal bar that is a 5s stun that can be used again in just 2s (AKA permanent stun). Or the golem in a box which is a mini heat seeking AOE explosion that does 3,000 dmg . These nasty things can be used atop walls and take out groups in seconds, Oh and did I add they’re 1,500 range?

Yeah guess it did… Metal bar still works though and it’s almost as bad.

Golem in a box was fixed last patch.
