I LOVE EVERYBODY!

I’m like the new female faces – especially the ones with little horns around the eye.

However the males feel too doglike for my taste. Hopefully someone can convince me otherwise.

All the male faces look sort of goofy on Dulfy’s site (I think its the giant lips on the second two), but maybe it’ll just take a bit of messing with the sliders to make them less goofy looking. I think some people will be pretty happy with them, since I’ve seen a number of people comment about wanting some male Charr faces that didn’t have the huge fangs, and these all fit that bill. Me, I like the fangs, so I’ll be sticking with my old faces.

The female ones are OK. I quite like the 3rd one (well, 3rd on Dulfy’s site anyway) with the long fur, but I’ll have to see if I can make it look more fierce and less cutesy. I don’t want pretty kitty Charr.

Its a shame that faces require a Total Makeover Kit to change, though. I was a bit more willing to change hairstyles when the new ones came out because it was cheaper to do so. Gonna have to really think long and hard before I burn a makeover kit just for a face change (since most of my characters don’t need other changes).

I really like the females; they’re cute, but I just plain do not like the males.

Now that I’ve gotten in-game and played around with some of the new faces…. I actually quite like the #1 male. Its certainly quite different than almost any of the other Charr faces (and I do agree with the 2nd poster that it looks somewhat dog-like), which is both good and bad at the same time, but I’ve still been able to make it look pretty nice. It does require pretty heavy slider adjustments, though. Shrink the nose down a lot and enlarge the eyes and eyebrows, namely. And it only seems to look good with certain horns.

My favorite part of the face is probably the spikes around the eyes, but unfortunately they clip through some of the head armor (it clips through my T1 light anyway, and I’d imagine it would with other similar style armors as well), so its kind of a downside as well.

Not sure if I like it enough to actually use it (I’m fairly happy with the looks of both my current male Charr), but its a possibility at least.

The other male faces are still pretty bad, though. #2 has ridiculous lips and #3 looks too cute.

Sigh. I like the look of that 3rd female face, I really do. Played with it a bit in-game, made it look nice… and then I showed my armor.

I really like the male ones. I didn’t like the male faces until I messed around with them though. They feel a lot more expressive to me than the originals. They do feel more goofy, but I really like them. It’s a nice bit a variety to the face choices.

I haven’t messed with the females ones yet, and I’m not too sure about them right now.

Major kudos to the artist/artists who worked on the new charr faces!

I love char, and as an artist I was always bothered how some of the old faces did not have very realistic anatomy or muscle structure, especially in the jaw and neck region. These new faces are seriously impressive to me, they have just the right blend of anatomy and personality to be really fun!!

Lowering the face on some of them, especially the males, really seem to balance out the whole figure. And many of the other aspects of the faces, in both male and female seemed more realistic – but not too realistic, they are expressive and unique and have real potential for great personality!

I don’t know who the artist(s) are who worked on these things, but whoever they were, I hope I see more from them soon!

Lol! Well luckily I never wear face covering helmets. I like my Charr faces too much to cover them up. Not much point in wearing one at all really since they all remove either your hair or your horns, or both.
That’s pretty bad. It’s pretty hilarious too though.

It’s a super dumb complaint, but the fact that the new male faces look more canine really bugs me. I guess I just want the race of giant battle cats to stick to looking like cats.

It’s a really silly thing to complain about though, I know. On the other hand, I love the female faces !

Did a preview of the new faces with the makeover kit I keep around for just these occasions. I must say all the female faces are excellent, the male ones…idk the faces seem decent overall it’s just the eyes. I played with the sliders on them for a while and have yet to find a way to make them look less psychotic.

I gave my alt, Thorn Gorecrow, a makeover. It took a while to get used to her new look, but ultimately I’m glad I did.

I’m loving the new faces! I gave my ele a total makeover and the new face really fits. The old faces made him look like he was infected with something like rabies; now he actually looks cool. ^^

The next challenge A-net has now is to fix so that armour fits on the new faces. Beacause – The faces looks awsome!!! That armour fitting onto them – not so much… (make holes for the Eyes in the right place…)

Nothing to say here im gunna buy 5 makeover kit this month and get those new face done for all my character o_O (well at least 2 charr 1 sylv 1 human) its not that i dont want a new asura face but all my girl are already uber cute without the new one. Asura female already had a cute style face before so eh but Wow for charr they did something epic. maybe well even see some rerolls around to charr female

My young level 68 Elementalist, changed forever, only kept body size and height (thinnest and tallest), reduced head size, same horns, different everything else, but I love him even more now. I am using the supposedly “bad” second face with the “huge” lips.

Still has long fangs, they are just keep inside his mouth. I shall take another more flattering pic when I have the time.

The first one is really good if you alter it quite a bit-actually similar than one already available for the females, just a bit less ferocious, but same style (can be made to look tiger-ish or lion-ish depending on how you play with the nose, eyes, etc.) I didn’t use it because of the facial horns protruding on masks, but it can be made to look great (also I was aiming for a partially striped hyena look, which I couldn’t achieve because there is no body skin with both stripes and a black nose-since this is fantasy anyway, the results below shall suffice.)

Bought a new character slot just so I could use the new face. Now if only they could improve medium armor so I don’t have to keep buying that darn t3 coat :/

Also, it’s a bit hard to imagine that you’ll never find anything to use the kit for, on ANY of your characters, EVER. There will be more hairstyles, colors and faces added probably, so eventually the kit is going to be useful.

Every 5k achievement points is hardly “free”. That’s a tremendous investment of time. I’m currently at around 7,300, and given how utterly the Living Story has failed to engage me for the past year, I don’t think I’ll ever hit 8,000, much less 10,000.

And 25g is far more gold than I’m willing to invest in an item I then have no guarantee of actually wanting to use, since I can’t see what the features look like with different sliders, colors, etkittenil the cost is already sunk.

Update: Luxx’s “final look” in full Exotics/some ascended. I still like the new style very much vs my old look, though that one was neat too in its own way.

Here’s my new warrior, i had to fiddle with the features to make him less goofy more mean looking-ish. I like the male faces more than the female ones tbh, the female ones felt unrealistic.

These new faces are pretty good to be honest, they are a LOT more customizable than the default faces. Mess around with the sliders and you’ll see.

I am rather pleased with the new faces.
You can really show out the femininity that there should have been all this time.

I am impressed by what Voodoo managed to get out of that face – but I’ve yet to see any of the new female faces in any configuration that doesn’t look horrific.

I can agree that barely anybody tries to attempt to make a female charr that looks decent if not amazing without making it look UGLY / MANLY or SCARY.

I have my look an my personal opinion mixed with everyone elses in my server is
“The Cutest Charr Ever” + My Looks with the name “Deadly Cuddles” and you’ve got yourself a winner.

I was really excited when i saw the new female charr faces, i especially liked the lynx-like face. I found it a bit too “cute-ish” but i though, okay, let’s see what i can make of it. I like my charrs looking predatory and fierce, and hell, this face proved to be a real challenge… i had a general idea of what made a face look fierce and i think i did the best i could with this face…. but from the front it still looks as if it was smiling :P But overall, i’m kinda content with it (it really is the closest one can get to a dangerous lynx look with this face, i think)

The one thing I disliked about the face is the whole “Bushy Brow” deal.
I farm Black Lion Keys about 10 times a day (3 hours – 4 in total) I get maybe 1 – 2 Total make over kits every day with some great side loot, uni dyes and sometimes a very very slim chance of perma contracts (have not gotten yet but my friend has)

So changing my look constantly for improvements is relatively simple or just throw down 20 gold to buy 1.

If you do not have a personal banker just buy the staff from the TP once you finish Shaemores opening quest

Black Lion Chest Keys can be farmed (I clocked in 5 runs with a friend using THE fastest method) 18 Minutes.

You create a Human, Guardian storyline (2)(2)(2)(2) Always choose this storyline
(This works amazingly with the Personal Banker)
You basically get a MIGHTY STAFF from TP and take it out of your banker when you create the Human Staff Guardian and rush your way through everything to get to your 10th storyline quest.

What I mean by the fastest possible way is you have a friend with you doing the same thing and each of you are doing the quests together but are getting the waypoints / story mode instances while the other runs to the next instance.

Simply put…

The first Instance (After the Heart quest) is you have to save petra and her father from the bandits at her bar I rally all the bandits from bottom – top and drag thema ll to Blaize (He is the one on the stairs) this saves you like 3 minutes. Once you leave this instance your friend runs to get to the instance that is on the other side of the map in queensdale and you grab the next waypoint which is in the center of divinities reach then you go grab the storyline activation (Your friend should have gotten there by the time you activate to join in)

You do not have to use a friends help but solo with no personal baker = about 30-40 minutes per key where as the rushing method with 24 might bonus due to the skill Empower is 18mins.

Ah i see! So either i delete one of my characters, or buy a new slot so i can constantly recreate a character for this. Hmm… (though if i have the money to buy the slot, i might as well buy some keys ) I might give it a shot, thank you for the info

It’s a relatively cost saving method if you are interested in the chest drops or just want something specific for (free) I do it daily as a ice breaking from all the dungeons and stuff that I do.

Why do you assume that, because your charr doesn’t appeal to Ben K, he’s thinking about breasts?
I’m a female player and it’s not my ideal cute either. No offense to you, I just have different tastes—but I’m glad you found a look you love. I like my female charr to look a little more “manly” as you call it.
Honestly, I can see what Voodoo means. While I purchased one of the new female faces and got its features to be something I really liked—he has a point. All the new female faces are cutesy and “sweet-baby-cat” like. Which is a step away from the fierce charr we’ve come to know.
