if you want a greatsword and medium armor for the coats, you could go Ranger. I don’t think there’s anything under heavy armor that resembles Kirito’s design.

I’m surprised this idea hasn’t been mentioned yet. I main a Sylvari Mesmer: they rock rather trenchcoat-esque wardrobe, and can be equipped with dual swords. I’d say that combo’d work for ALO-era [especially considering his ‘racial specialties,’ then], or swap into human for SAO-style.

Try looking into Koda set from HotW for coat armor, there aren’t much choices for medium looking heavies. Imo a warrior fits best for dual sword wielding.

If you went for a medium class, get enough badges for an Invader coat and dye it black.

Imo, the beginning light armor for guys resembles Kirito the most. So if you make a mesmer, you can use that armor and dual wield swords.

They have a coat set for warriors/guardians. But I can’t think of the name of it from the top of my head.

You know, I was really thinking of the current Alfheim arc and not paying attention to the picture posted. xD

I agree, mesmer may be the best bet if you want to dual wield swords and it does have a good look. In the anime at least he single wields most of the time and his weapon in the Alfheim arc resembles a greatsword in size and how its worn.

In terms of movements though, Kirito seems like a thief to me. Infact should Thieves get dual swords, I hope its Kirito that inspired a Anet dev for animation and skills.

Wow, I thought I would be the only one to trying to match Kirito.

Trying this till days, and by now I also figured a human mesmer would most likely match the most. Even though, a warrior with leather coats would be the best choice by animation of skills, but not possible atm.

I tried also thief with sword and pistol in second slot. That way you get as close as you can get atm to clothes design (black leather coats) and skills, as the 3rd skill with pistol is a sword flurry, first is normal but fast sword attacks and seond skill is a gap closer. Sadly you can not equip a second sword.

He never uses a greatsword. He just likes using really big longswords.
Even in Alfheim, that’s just a really kitten-looking 1hander. Or, his dual-wielding skill makes 2Hs into 1Hs, which makes no sense.

in Sao he uses long swords( 1hand wich was mostly used in combo with shield)
in alfheim he chose a great sword ( he dual wields because his str parameters where maxed and that lvl 1 sword is just so light for him

That armor looks really good ^^

I made a thief (though even though I redid the face so many times, I cant seem to get one I like) and will prolly just 1h sword and no offhand to look like Kirito, though I do like skill 3 with pistol offhand. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions for sword skins that would match either of Kirito’s swords?

Also, I was making Agil as well, and even though they dont have two handed axes in the game, I was thinking of going hammer warior, because Im pretty sure there is a hammer skin with small blades on the end.. or I could have just made it up in my head.. lol

Oh and now that I think about it.. Sylvari Mesmer with a Vigil Greatsword would go well as an ALO Kirito, though I wish he did melee attacks, and dual wield Sylvari Mesmer would makes sense if only for the fact that ALO Kirito uses Ilusion magic.

I now officially hate Kirito and SAO.

Ha ha, just finished watching SAO recently. Something tells me the basic premise of that game would be against ArenaNet’s policies. But, you never know! I already feel like I can’t leave the game… :-P

Heh. I haven’t read the GGO arc, yet. But my question is: Why female? Is that avatar
actually female, or just reaaaaalllly bishounen? If the latter, then wouldn’t a minimum height, thin human male work? (After all, human male faces can get mighty trap-esque.)

In the original books yes, and the same image is used for the anime, though the sizing belongs to a different race so he can use it as a single handed sword. (in ALO)

As for how to make a character a replica, I’d say ranger, single handed sword, maybe add a dagger for dual wield since they can get pre big for some skins. I say ranger for 3 reasons:

1 – the armour is as close to kirito’s as possible, light armour doesn’t look to have the same texture.
2 – the style of fighting is similar to kirito’s with all of the dodging and evading, and even if you choose to use a great sword there’s a lot of movement in the ranger skills, also keep in mind great swords for rangers are placed on their back.
3 – ranger’s have a lot of complimentary traits and skills for a kirito-esque character, having utility dodging and swiftness would be the most noticeable.

the cons however, is that kirito never tamed any sort of beast, so it may look out of place there, though i think a raven might suit the appearance.

Go ranger with sword main-hand and a huge dagger for off-hand, like Jyenh says. Or use a greatsword if you want to match the 2nd story arc, since it IS suppose to be a 2-handed sword. They just make him wield it one-handed in the anime.
Then just use full heritage armor from HoM (except for gloves, find some small gloves) and dye it white&red (Wrath dye works best for the red). Instant Knight of the Bloodoath armor set that looks just the one Kirito wore for one whole episode.
And personally, I think that armor is a lot more interesting to looks at then pure black armor.
