Norn Spirit Guide Choice
I think that might be the extent of it, the human’s god choice just places a priest of your chosen god in your home instance. In fact as near as I can tell the only time the third racial question affects anything is the charr’s favorite warband member who becomes your story companion.
It affects the first personal storyline. If you choose wolf, you get one, get bear, get another, and so on.
No, the first storyline is based on your choice as to what your norn believes is the most valued aspect of a hero is (guarding the mists, fighting our foes, etc. etc.)
I took raven, and have also not seen anything in the story that seemed related to that choice. But there is one little thing I would like to ask, sometimes when I discover a new part of a map my character says: “By Raven, there is no end to Tyria.” So my question, does this “By Raven” is changed if you took another spirit at the start?
No, I took Snow Leopard and my char also says that line
I picked bear and the only thing I’ve noticed is that he says “I can feel bear’s power!”
I have yet to figure it out… all I know is that bear is proud of me. I can feel her little tail wagging in my heart.
I do know that first part of the story is based on whether you chose to defend the mists, or fought ancient foes, or the third option- honor the spirits.
Your second story part is based on whether you passed out, got into a fight, or lost the heirloom.

One thing I noticed is the from all the shrines in the starting area, Only Bear has dialogue. At first I thought that it was because I had chosen Bear, but after deleting that character due to personal issues and making another(picking Snow Leopard), I noticed that this wasn’t the case.
Only that shrine has dialogue. I would be a nice touch if only the shrine for the Spirit you chose had dialogue for you.
Also I would like to point that the Raven Shaman is missing from the stairs when you climb up to fight Issormir. Wolf, Snow Leopard and Bear are there to give you their blessings but Raven is nowhere to be found.
I picked bear and the only thing I’ve noticed is that he says “I can feel bear’s power!”
Says that on my snow leopard character.
I think the consensus is the option just doesn’t do anything except change one NPCs greeting.
I got to 80, and have done the personal campaings up to 76 or something… and there was nothing to do with my spirit guardian, the wolf.
Only when I had to kill the Jotun king there was mention of the wolf spirit, I do not know if it changes according to your choice on character creation.

mm only place I have noticed where it seems to matter is where you fight the Jotun, I assume you can get a blessing from your Chosen spirit when doing that part of the personal story.
However I have only done wolf so far so no idea if it changes
No, the Jotun Giant King it’s the same, regardless of what spirit you had chosen in character creation. You get to choose from getting Wolf’s blessing or help that blacksmith forge a very powerful weapon. This story only happens if you choose “Strength” when asked “The most important quality of a great hero is…”.
well thats a bit silly, its the perfect place for it to get reflected.
You know what would be nice, but falls under the wishful thinking category… If the choice we make on which spirit to follow would unlock the elite for said spirit (thus making it so we do not have to spend skill points on it)… The catch being, you still cannot utilize the skill till you hit level 30.

Actually I’d like to see more being done WITH that skill at 30 for your personal story
It really wouldn’t require a major overhaul of the game and the script they have on Bear they can apply to Raven, Wolf, and Snow Leopard as well to greet you
Oh, that’s odd. I made a Norn that is under the Wolf and the first quest line involved me working with the wolf “shamans” and receiving wolf’s blessing. I figured it was because I chose Wolf and not the others.

I never did that, I escorted a caravan then went on to beat up people
