i think anet has more important matters to deal with than a 1 year difference in lore.. and besides, anet can’t constantly be updating the time spans of the game with each passing year.
and time within the game is not equivalent to time in real life. it’s not 2013 in tyria, essentially. can’t guarantee 1 calendar year to be 1 tyria year
The personal story doesn’t really operate on the same timescale as the persistent world. That’s why the Living World technically takes place after Zhaitan has been defeated. So when you start a new character to take through the personal story, it actually is still ‘25 years ago’. The date of Zhaitan’s defeat is somewhat static as far as lore goes in this sense.
Technically, it was 24 years ago, as the timeline for the sylvari starts 23 years before the game launch, not the rounded-up 25 in the intro.

if you really want to go down this path IIRC each “day” in Guild Wars is only about 4 hours RL time, with 2 hours of day and 2 hours of night.
so…. 6 years…

Rotational (day/night) and orbital (seasonal cycle) are independent. Since no seasonal changes have been observed (outside of a freak snowstorm in LA) we have no gauge by which to measure the orbital cycle (and thus years).
