The fact my Sylvari starts with human armor is very anti-climatic for me and it kills me i have to get to level 35 to actually look like one of my kind. Switching to town clothes every time i can makes me tired.

You can use transmutation stones to get that cultural armor for your lower tier character, I’ve been doing this with my necromancer ever since lvl 5. She’s now at lvl 30 looking fine and fancy with the T2 cultural light armor.

That is a good idea but i’m afraid you can only do that if you got some golds and been playing this game for a while with other sylvari character.

I would love more sylvari armours- the karma vendors in Caledon could carry lower lvl Sylvari armours, it would be awesome!
I love my Sylvari mesmer so much I recently made a Sylvari ranger and since my mesmer has been wearing cultural armour since lvl20 I forgot just how bad the human Armours are on Sylvari- urrgh- I love them on my humans but they make the Sylvari look really dull.
We only have 3 sets really and it makes me very sad indeed.

I noticed there are a lot of NPC Sylvari clothes that could be easily turned into armor with some polish. Anyway i did as Taku suggested, luckily i had some transmutation stones in my bank, loving my t1 medium set now, spend a lot of time coloring it.

This have always been the problem when playing a sylvari. The human looking armour don’t look good on them. It’s a shame that one have to wait up to level 30 upward before they can get cultural armour to wear. For an old player with gold yes it’s easier to dress up your toon to look like a true sylvari. But for a new player who just picked up GW2, and he/she is interesting in playing a sylvari you are stack with the human looking armour which is Pretty boring and break up the immersion

Well, even a lot of npcs don’t wear cultural armour. Sometimes it’s a mix of things. Like wearing normal heavy armour and wearing cultural shoulders.

If I have the gold to buy T2 cultural armor and the transmutation stones, would I still not be prevented from using the transmuted armor on a character who does not meet the cultural armor level requirement? Or does this restriction go out the window if I keep the stats on the base armor (i.e., the piece to which the cultural appearance is being applied) when performing the transmutation?

If you just apply only the skin to your previous armor it should use the same level requirement as the base armor that you had previously. Although I’m not 100% sure but if I remember correctly I wasn’t able to transmute the cultural skin to the starter armor that you get after finishing the introduction instance.

And it would be great if Anet changed the cultural armors to be just skins without any lvl restrictions that you could just apply to a piece of armor. (similar to the Hall of Monuments skins)

So, if I interpret your response correctly, if I had a level 55 necro, then I would not be able to purchase the T2 armor and transmute it to gear that he could wear (until becoming level 60, the minimum level required for T2). This is what I would expect, though one of the previous posters suggested it was possible to get T2 on a level 30 toon.

It is possible to transmute higher level gear on lower level gear. My character was level 19 and I transmuted T1 level 35 gear on level 19 gear so i can wear it now. You can do it all on one character as long as you have the gold.

What I meant was that you can transmute higher level gear to your low level character pretty freely, only restriction that I have noticed was that I couldn’t transmute the T2 cultural light to my starter armor.

As an example you could transmute a legendary weapon to a lvl 5 weapon and use it pretty much as soon as you start.

(Sorry if my earlier post was confusing. Was in a bit of a hurry and I’m not a native English speaker.)
