Account Stolen
I can sign into the forum and account but can’t sign into game the restore window pops up and when I try to restore it won’t let me with out my key code. I was able to sign into here and change password but when I try to sign into game I still get restore window and can’t do anything with out key and it’s 700 miles away and no one there to look it up for me. I can access everything but my game even old tickets I filed but no game. If I have too I can wait till I’m home in 2 weeks but how do I get the dev’s to put hold on my account before everything I have worked for 2 years to achieve is gone.
Have you submitted a ticket and asked CS about the issue? If not, that may be your best bet. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.
…..how can someone log in and steal my account with email notification,I thought that if your account was signed into from a different address Arenanet sent you an email and I never received any notice.
If your account was actually hacked that indicates your email account has been compromised. Web mail messages can be deleted such that there is no way you can see what has transpired between the hacker and Anet (Through what Anet considers your VALID email account….they considered any requests, etc. as coming directly from you).
Change your web based email password (and consider getting a different email account and get CS to change to that one once your GW2 account is secured).
It does not make sense that you cannot log into your game account but can log in here….are you sure you are using your email address and not your display name to try and log into the game?

It seems that a lot of you don’t know what you need to file a CS ticket, you cannot file with out your key code and serial number,before anyone else tells me to file please check for yourself.
Actually, you can. Above every box it clearly states: ‘If you don’t know this information, just leave this field blank.’
Make sure you do select something from each drop-down menu box, though. Good luck.
What makes you think your account was hacked. You obviously still have the same password since you can post here. It’s the same info to log into the game. You need to use your e-mail and password to log into the game not your display name.
