I have a rather problematic issue. I Have to constanly contact support to change my password for every log in. After a single use of a password, my account appears to “forget” it as it becomes invalid afterwards. Contacting support has only provides a temporary solution since they appear to only be able to give me password resets, but the real problem is I’m running out of passwords I’ll be able to remember so when/if the time comes when this problem is fixed, I fear I won’t be able to remember my password. So now I’m making this post to see whether anyone has a solution so that I don’t have to change passwords for every log in.

There is a ‘game forgets password bug’. Refer to this thread about error 11 .

I’ve contacted support. They told me to delete the dat file and run a repair. I put the post in that thread. It didn’t work for another person with that problem but you can try it. If it fails, try updating your ticket and maybe put in a reference to that thread so they know what you are talking about.

By the way, do you have your serial code? If you do you can change your password without contacting support, which is much faster. A few minutes rather than a day or two.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the recover account feature also results in an error, despite putting in the correct email, serial code, and character name. But thanks for the delting dat suggestion, I’ll try that and come back to say whether it has worked or not. It may also help to add that the problem I’m experiencing is not unique to the game client, it also “forgets” my password on the website aswell.
