I am a new player, just got the game today (About ten minutes ago). Tried to log in. Never got a “Confirm Email” or anything else, aside from the “Thank you for registering” email.

It says my Account Name or Password are incorrect. This is incorrect.

1. I can log in to the website with the same information just fine.
2. I’ve doublechecked my email address as the login, and it’s correct. I use the same email to log in to countless other games, as well.

Anyone know what to do? Here’s the info:

Gotcha! Yes, my account was compromised as well as my e-mail hijacked and was given a new serial code today and I’m having the same problem as you guys. So I’m assuming it’s some type of problem with “new accounts” because technically I got a new serial applied to my account so mine’s “kind of” new as well. Still frustrating none the less

I have the same issue here. Did you finish downloading the game? I’m still downloading the game right now.
I wonder maybe it’s saying incorrect password & username due to incomplete game download. just my guess.

Well normally you can login before the game downloads. If that’s changed or not I personally have no idea, first time logging in since last year and having a new serial applied. So my guess is it’s either happening to just new accounts or as Master said it’s the download (which is a new change to me).

You can log in for an update, not downloading the game brand new to your computer.

You can not log into the game or Launcher until the download (for the game) is complete. This would not apply to updates. Good news is you know your Account Name and password are working because you can log into the forums.

Once the game completes the full download, you should have no problem logging in.

OK i was still having problems after downloading the complete game. When i first downloaded the .exe under my account the file it had me download was gw2dev.exe. I just went under my account again and redownloaded the file and now i got gw2setup.exe from it… I don’t know if that had something to do with it but now i can log in fine… Maybe you guys should see if that happened to you too?

I don’t know why this happening, i just a second copy with different email and it’s not letting me login too. It’s been three days. I’ve sent numerous support tickets and still not response from Anet. What a fail.

I am getting the same issue, Here I thought I was gonna get a chance to play it today…My Login info works for the Forum and my Account on the site but whenever I attempt to Log after installation it says my information is invalid.

I can only hope that there is a fix to this issue sometime tomorrow

Do make sure you use the email address associated with your game account (Account Name) and password to log in. Good luck.

Sorry you guys are having problems.

A few points. Multiple tickets slow down supports response to you. Each new ticket is read but they want only one ticket so the extras are closed down. It’s best if you update the first one only. Go ahead and close down the others.

If you aren’t getting the response emails from support, check your spam and junk folders. They may be in there. Read this thread here for more information about missing emails.

If you still can’t find your emails after this you can post your ticket number in this thread for tickets 3 days and older.

If anyone is still downloading, you have to finish the complete download before you can log in.

And one final thing, sometimes people are confused by the term Account Name. The login for the game is your email and password.

I discussed this with the team, and they said that this sounds as if your installation is not right, and you may need to uninstall the version you downloaded and download the setup file from your account management page again.

Yeah, I bought the game and can’t even log in to play it. So frustrating and there doesn’t seem like there will be a fix. anytime soon.

Thread is 3 days old and no one has gotten it fix. This ‘uninstall’ and ‘reinstall’ is just the devs trying to buy time. How long do we have to return and get our money back on this broken game?

Krankster: Check the email, you get a email with the serial code. So, just remake another account if you never finished making it. Most likely won’t matter, since after you download the game you possibly won’t be able to log into the game anyway.
