Since my question wasnt answered and extremely time sensitive to play with my friends on the same home server I want to get this issue cleared with and done with ASAP. So to sadly repeat
I apologize for making new threads but it would be a faster process if you didnt keep it in a locked thread sop I can continue to ask questions.
Now I understand this is frustrating and this is equally frustrating for both parties. As I am unable to get a refund for my gems nor able to go back to my old server unless I pay more gems which will waste the 35 dollars I spent on the gems. Now, I appreciate that your also feeling it. But please bear with me.
Is there any way for all of now without having to wait to be on the same home servers?

So I just have them talk to support and have them transfer over? From that changing servers thread in the beginning it seems to be the only case. Is that right?
so should I tell them to post in this thread make a support ticket? Cause that seems to be the case since im unable to be server switched cause I used gems? But they are fresh new players who brought the game I would like to have them experience and enjoy the game as much as possible.
This is how server transfer works:
1) You may transfer once every 7 days, no exceptions.
2) You may transfer by paying for gems, server population determines the price.
3) You may use in-game gold to exchange for gems, if you so desire. Gold-to-gems prices fluctuate.
4) You may delete all your characters and transfer your account for free (once every 7 days). You may put anything that is not soulbound in the bank to transfer with you.

Remember, anyone can guest to another server as long as both servers are in the same region (NA or EU). You and your friends can play together whilst you wait for any server transfer cooldowns.

ya but they are newbies, and deleting your character after one week will pretty much usually kill a game for someone. They literally just picked a server are they unable to change servers or am I able to have support switch us up so I can show them all aspects of the game and whatnot.
For goodness sake! Can’t say it much plainer. The only way to transfer to another server is what was outlined above. Nothing else. Guesting is an option, or just wait out the week. Best of luck.
Well the main problem is the fact that they will need to delete there stuff to transfer over.
Well, either pay for transfer (with cash or in-game gold), delete characters, or guest. Take your pick. =)
Well I did pay with cash, to transfer I messed up they wont refund. They picked servers and now they are unable to transfer even with deleting there characters. Holding interest in a new game for most people the initial experience tends to be you know crucial and being bogged down by poor support in these matters dont help it much.
It would be a wonderful world that had a support system that remedied all our errors, what an idyllic life that would be, no?
Sadly, sometimes, it doesn’t work that way. I am sorry you can’t find a solution that is acceptable. The only other option would be to create a second account. Good luck. =)
Well it would be ideal if the support would be able to handle the situation with ease as I assume they are paid to do. I realize there are many things. But its just amazes me how the lack of support I am getting with such a simple mistake. I am now out over 15 bucks and now screwed over and now my friends are now most likely gonna drop the game because there attention span will be gone in the week without properly going in WvWvW.
This is why the support system is here isnt it? To support mistakes happen and that is why refunds exist and more leniency especially considering my friends are brand spanking new into the game.
After reading the thread all my friends need to do is just do what Cavendish to transfer servers asap?

I bought gems so I could transfer to a different server. I accidentally clicked transfer when I had the wrong server selected. Oops
I am afraid the server I want will be full by next week, plus Im kitten ed I wasted 1800 gems. Is there anyway this can be fixed or am I basically stuck on the wrong server for a week and out 1800 gems?

8 hrs after submitting ticket, i got the transfer! Thank you so much for helping me with this arena net. I really appreciate the help.

No Cavendish had a totally different issue. He bought the gems with real money and made a mistake.
You friends need to pick one of the following options:
a: buy enough gems using a gem gift card, paypal or a creditcard and PAY for the transfer
b: delete all characters (store all items except soulbound items in the bank) and transfer for FREE
There are NO other options. There is NO was for support to assist them. Making more threads is NOT going to change that.
You might disagree with this amount of support but it is as it is. If your friends account is only a week old and if your friend finds this unacceptable he can ask support for a refund of the game. His account will be deleted and he MIGHT gets his money back.
Accounts much older then 1 week are not eligable for a refund. But feel free to punish Arenanet with not playing and not purchasing future games if you disagree with this.

Well how is it different? They bought the game? Regardless of what it was real life money exchanged and used like I used real life money for gems to get a transfer. I am unable to get a transfer nor a refund with the response of spend more gems or delete my characters. Which I would still need to wait a week for.
I brought this issue up on day one of there purchase and amazed on how little support on such a mistake is made.
My friends HAVE tried deleting there characters and tried to transfer and it doesnt work.
You know perfectly well it does work, after the seven-day cooldown. We are all sorry your friends did not tell you the server they were transferring to, and thus you were left on the wrong server. There is nothing to be done, but wait until each of you has exhausted the cooldown. I am sure you can all work something out next week. Good luck. =)
No I dont know thats why im here on the support. Im trying to get ‘support’ to fix the problem.
Your friend should’ve asked you what server you play on.
You should’ve told him what server to create his character on.
User error. Just wait a week. If he can’t possibly wait a week to transfer to you, or you to him, then why on earth do you think he’d enjoy playing this game? Typically people know within 30 minutes if they’re going to like or hate the game they’re playing.
In the meantime, just guest to his server, or have him guest to your server and PvE while you wait 7 days.
Yes it is a user error I admit it. I provided a example which the situation was resolved quickly. Playing a wek to delete your character is a killjoy for any new player.
But this shouldnt be this much of a problem. for either me or them.
Edit: For example Cavendish accidently brought to another server. Regardless of the method gems or not. The issue was resolved within a day. I am still trying to get it done with no resolve in sight. it doesnt matter that cave ‘paid’. Or it shouldnt. the person made a mistake as did I and the issue was resolved im looking for the same kind of support especially when it is possible shown and suggested by the thread Gaile gave.

What you may find is that you are banned from the forums, if not the game, for breaking the ToS. You are not allowed to dispute actions taken by staff. Just a friendly tip. If I were you, I would play the game instead of spending my time arguing. But, each to his own.
So your saying that on a similiar previous case that is exactly the same and try to get the same results is something not worth venturing? Especially when my friends say they are now not willing to delete their characters?
I am at my wits end. I know that staff are able to do so and are willing to because a case was in the very thread I was referred to. Plus I assume the longer I wait to try to get this settled the less liekly it will to happen. I played since launch and deleting a level 80 compared to two fresh and when I spent IRL For gems to server transfer is ridicilous.

So the case does look similar to me. Wouldn’t have thought support could do that, but seeing Cavendishs case it does seem like they can.
The only difference is that Cavendish accidently changed to the wrong server. While Genrazn wants to undo his server change and asks for a refund.
Your friends probably can’t use support to change servers. Though I think it’s strange that the 7 days rule also applies to new players.
You might have a chance if youmake a ticket and ask to undo your server change (but dont ask for a refund).
But try to be more friendly…that might help widen the boundaries of what support can do.

I would be curious as to what Customer Support said to his friends when they asked about choosing the wrong server. Though, to be fair, I wonder about the friends, as first he said they deleted their characters a couple of times, then he said they were unwilling to delete their characters. It seems the crux of the problem is a communication error, and probably that is why Support is unable to be of assistance.
What I don’t get is how you messed up this badly? They are your “friends” but you couldn’t talk to any of them at all before transferring to some mystery server which you find out they aren’t on. I’m sure we would all love to get freebies from Anet. I’d like it if they gave me Sunrise, but you know it isn’t going to happen.
Support isn’t helping because you screwed up. You don’t click transfer and bam it’s done. No, there are several safeguards in place to prevent that. Yet you click right past them and agree to everything and expect a refund for not reading anything?
A week of play isn’t anything. Unless they made it to 80, which I doubt since you said they are noobs, they can delete their characters and remake them but seriously, whining isn’t going to do anything.
Well I wasnt even given the option for going back to my old server. But if anything it seems my support ticket is going somewhere someone is investigating and helping me out apparently and see if it is going anywhere.
Well issue is resolved, I got a refund of my gems and now back to my original server.
Sadly I desired that my friends join me on sea of sorrows. But this is the best alternative and got a refund of the gems I spent. I appreciate the support and am glad my persistance in the matter lead somewhere then a simple warning.
