Forgive me if I posted in the wrong section.

I want to know if the devs plan on allowing players to change their character names in the future (i.e. a name makeover package on black lion trading company).

If there is a technical reason that makes this very difficult to implement, I would like to know as soon as possible. It is going to factor into my decision on whether or not to just delete my level 20 character and remake her.

Gail did say that it was on the cards,but no time frame though.
but tbh at lvl 20 i would just re-start again,as getting to lvl 20 don’t take long anyway.
you could possibly do that within a day or two in wvw if you follow a zerg group.

i would also like to know how to change a character name, i JUST spent $60 on this game earlier tonight, and i have to admit, thus far im pretty disappointed, I’ve spent the last several hours playing the game, getting used to the mechanics and trying to learn how everything works… when in the middle of my first fun fight, i get kicked out of the game because of “unacceptable behavior” when i try to log back in, it says i need to change my character name…. I’d be more than happy to do so, if there was a way to do so, but after combing my account info, my character page, etc, i cannot find any way to do what it is asking me to do…. should i assume that it is not possible? yes i realize i only made it to level 9, and i could easily do so again, but i should not have to, if my character name was unacceptable, it should’ve never been allowed to exist in the first place, little lone every other variation on the spelling that i could come up with until i found one that wasn’t taken. please either unblock my account, allow me to change the name myself, or tell me how, if im missing something.

You probably got 72hr suspension for unacceptable character name. After suspension ends – you’ll be able to log in on your account. You will be prompted to change name if you try to play with character-in-question. Next time name you characters according to Rules

it already allows me to log into my account, i just cant use the character I’ve spent all my time on. yeah i probably should’ve read the rules, but come on, seriously, do you really think ANYONE ever does? the EULA and TOS are overlooked by almost every player of every game in existence, after all, no one wants to spend $60 on a game then sit and spend the next 4 hours reading a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo. game makers know this, that is why most allow you to accept their terms of service without stopping to read them, but that’s not my point. my point is simple…. if the name is unacceptable, i should’ve never been allowed to create it, and once i was allowed to create it, i shouldn’t have any action taken against me for the developers’ mistake without any warning at all. also, as the game is telling me to change the name, but offering me absolutely no way to do so, i am trying to make a helpful suggestion that they do allow it soon as it is extremely stupid and confusing to be told repeatedly to do something that you have no power to do, and frustrating as heck after spending $60 on one of the most boring games you’ve ever played only to get blocked when things finally start to get interesting.
