Character name change required.
If your name was flagged, then arenanet think there is something wrong. The best way would be to file a support ticket and ask calmly and politely why your name was deemed against the rules.
Issue has been resolved thank you very much GW2 support team for helping me out so quickly.
And thank you for having the courtesy to post here to let us know all was well.
Sometimes people post here and then forget and when I do the look-up, well, it’s a bit of a waste of time. So posting to say something is resolved is very appreciated!

You know just from browsing the forums i noticed somone got there name forcebly changed becouse it also happend to be a name of a murderer.
Now correct me if im wrong but the name does not make one a murderer ..the act of murdering makes you a murderer.
If you made all the names of murderers un usuable you would pritty much make all names unusable. Think that your being to prudish here Anet :P (and you cant just pick and choose certain murderers over others, thats rediculous..all or none)
An extreme example ..“hitler” ..do you have any idea how many hitler’s there actually are lol ..just becouse one happend to be a WW2 enemy figure head does not make said name/word evil -.-
offensive words ..yes banned.. actual names ..they should be allowed.
just to note, i make up my own real names (not descripted words like “supreme destroyer” or some such) ..none of which to my knowledge are murderers :P

I think ArenaNet wants this game to have minimal anti-social attributes to increase its appeal to civil-minded people. Hence the crackdown on anti-social language, names, and behavior. It’s probably brought to them more players, and loyal ones at that, than it’s cost them.

Sorry, no. Guild Wars 2 is played by people from many dozens of countries, from a variety of cultures, ages, genders, and racial backgrounds. We’ll keep the game world pleasant by not allowing the names of mass murderers and other unsavory people. That’s our policy and that has proved to be a reasonable and well-accepted practice.
