I guys, I can’t submit a ticket because the site is having trouble.

I was just standing in game crafting and all of a sudden a random pop-up says “your character has been suspended for a breach in rules” then my window shuts. I turn it back on and the game forces me to change my name. The name wasn’t offensive, it was a latin word for wolf. I tried typing it in again, and no red crosses appear (it did have 1 international character, but it was considered as english) and it wouldn’t accept even though it wasn’t telling me i violated everything.

Is there any other way to let Anet know something went wrong or is there anything else I can do to get the name I have had since the Beta events back?

Just out of curiosity, did you say anything in chat before this happened or was it completely out of the blue?

I think we are missing a vital bit of information in this story (but I’m the overly suspicious type). Why would the OP NOT post the actual name in question? (from the description: Lupus)

Maybe it was banned because they thought it was referring to the disease commonly referred to as Lupus (lupus erythematosus) not the Latin word for wolf. Naming a character after a disease is against TOS.

At any rate I think that’s definitely a strawman reason… I bet it had to do with what accompanied Lupus. If he had literally just “Lupus” I think the GM who made the call should be sent to Latin class.
