So i made a support ticket and through discussing with the Gm i found out that my account had only been accessed in my area. I end up finding out that my brother accessed my account through my private PC (it had the autosaved username and password) and deleted both of my characters. I had stopped playing gw2 earlier this year and now when i tried to come back i saw my characters were missing. Found out it was my brother who deleted them after i stopped playing. The problem is that the GM said that it cant be considered a compromised account and therefore i cant have my characters restored, because it was my brother who did it. I would like to note that we did not share an account and he does not have regular access to my PC. I just want to play the game (with the characters i left behind many months ago) and was told by a friend to try and post here. Is there anything that can be done or anyway i can get my characters back? I just don’t see why i cant be helped when I did not delete them. I just got “hacked” by my brother….

There is nothing that can be done. They only restore based on actual hacked accounts. People can fake ‘my brother did it’ too easily to force an account restore (in order to get a sold precursor/legendary back for instance).

You will have to take this up with your parents.

The “little brother” argument holds no weight here. You’re responsible for your own PC’s security. If he managed to access it, and you stored your account info in the client, that’s no different than having your creditcard laying on the table, and him using it to buy stuff online.

Anet needs solid proof that you get hacked. Because access came from the same household, there’s no way to prove 1) you didn’t delete your characters by mistake, 2) you aren’t sharing the account, or 3) that your “little brother” even exists.

Take this as a lesson, and password protect your PC.

I understand these different reasons, but i do have a little brother and having bad security was an error on my part. The problem is my characters were deleted months ago. I would hope that this would prove i had no intent of gaming the system or that i am making this up. The lesson is learned, but the time investment and $ spent on the game for these characters can never be returned. I would be willing to do anything to “prove” what happened, but they only have support via e-mails.

Alas, there is no proof you can offer. Account rollbacks have to meet certain requirements. It’s unfortunate that you don’t meet them.
