Greetings ANet!

Since I lost faith in the german forums, I’m gonna post it here.

Yesterday I tried to link my GW1 and GW2 account. A friend of mine told me to go to my account and go to the tab for uniting my GW1 account with my GW2 account.

He told me first I have to fillin my GW2 account datas there and then click on “connect with GW1 account” and after that I should be able to fill in the GW1 account datas. But I allways recive an error message when I fill in my GW2 datas and want to continue (see uploaded screen).

Am I correct that I have to fill in my GW 2 (!) account datas there? Not the GW 1 account?? Don’t have him yet, so I couldn’t check that. He said he wont give me the account if it bugs anyway

I’m sorry the screen is in german, for some reason the website allways changes the language to german when I go to my account …

So can you help me?(((( PLZ >.<

Edit: will I still be able to gain additional hom points AFTER linking? So i can link and he can still play gw1?

Are you trying to link your account to an account that someone gave you?

If you are, you can’t do that. It’s against the contract he signed. He can’t give it to you and you can’t accept it.

Not exactly – I bought myself GW1 for some skins but I have no idea how to get HoM points so a friend of mine who played GW1 unlocked some stuff for me. Is it against the contract if 2 persons play on the same acc? o.O wut? :O (GW2 acc is mine only, GW1 actually too but he was playin’ on it, that’s what i meant). Isn’t that allowed? o.O I better write it a bit more clearly ty for the hint.

No, two people can not share an account. It is against the UA you agreed to. You can find all the necessary information here:

Hm well, ok ty vm. So I tell him then. Good the UA is from GW2 there so I’m safe? o.O My godness I really didn’t think that’s a problem. I hope I don’t recive any bad things now >.<

Well when ANet sees how much I spent on the game they surely will let me go xD Jokes aside, btt:
So official both acc are mine and lets say I just “showed him the game o.o” … again xD. I got the points I need for the main stuff I wanted, I think he didnt played that long for 6 pt. So can you help me now with linking the accounts? :S

Except for the Gems part, the UAs are the same for both GW and GW2. The second link I posted shows you how to link your accounts. Good luck.

Yea but I meant that he played on GW1 so they can’t punish my GW2 account for it :P It’s like beeing punished in FIFA (EA) for beeing late for work at The Sims (EA). xD

I understand, and unfortunately, that is against the ToS, as well. Regardless, I supplied the information on how to link the accounts, and the OP can decide if he wishes to continue to ‘share’ his account, or not, with the information provided.
