as the title says ive been through everything at this point even support was not helpful i did everything they asked for and in the end they said my computer wasnt compatable and yet ive been playing gw2 fine all these months with no problems right? untill last patch which has been making me disconnect randomly through the day constantly and this final disconnection has gotten my characters all stuck so if i go to log into them to get ingame the client instantly shuts down and tells me to send the crash report to anet and i do.

My exact problem is ever since this last patch things havnt been going well at all and aswell i have alot of guild members with this same problem of disconnecting randomly and the client crashes.

If anyone can help seriously need it figure out how to even remotely fix this or do i have to ask for a refund on the game because i definitly dont wanna quit after all that hard work getting my characters to 80 and fully gearing them. but if i have to then so be it.

I am redownloading the game as we speak to see if it will fix this problem so hopefully it does and i can get back with my friends to playing and if it doesnt then so long its been fun. ill check back in on this in a few to see if i got a reply back from a support member who can actually look more into the problem.

welp looks like anet support was verry wrong . i redownloaded the game and its working again as if nothing happened so hm.. the support girl told me that it was my computer apparently it wasnt the whole time it was the game itself so i suggest u guys take a look at this disconnection problem and dont ignore it because alot of players are having the same trouble as i am. and now mine is fixed thanks for nothing… ;/

Usually when something like this happens – the 1st and most reasonable action to do is repair game client, clear game cache or temporary files(if any), reinstall client if previous actions didn’t help. Then check you PC for any malicious/conflicting program running in background, also disconnects may happen if you keep P2P client(s) on during play (torrent, mule, DC++ etc) that takes most of your bandwidth if not configured properly.

Anyway, support was correct in stating that the problem is on your PC: if game client becomes corrupt – it was your PC that made it happen. There is nothing support can do besides giving you some advice.

problem is no one commented on my posts for a whole day so really no advice at all. but still u need to understand im not the only person with this problem thier is alot of people with it so my client was fine before the last 2 patches ever since ive gotten those 2 patches it has been crashing constantly for no reason at all. i really dont see how that is my computer. in all support was wrong as in saying my computer isnt compatable and thiers nothing i can do but buy a new computer so how can i be playing before these last 2 patches fine and my game is running smooth as a babys bottom x.x

Have you tried restarting your Router/Modem? Or using the command ipconfig /flushdns? thats for the DOS prompt btw.

I had the exect same problem. Right after a patch, I would constently crash. Did the repair of the client, and it worked fine for a few hours, then it would start crashing again. In my case it turned out I had a bad memory chip. Everything else on my computer was working fine, it was righgt after the patch, so I had every reason to believe it was the patch that was the problem, and in a way, it was. The patch downloaded curropted due to the bad memory chip, and since the game uses a large amount of memory when running, it was the only app that was displaying any issues.
I downloaded and ran memtest, it showed a bad chip. Replaced the chip and not a single crash since then.

my client is fine now. so it had to be a file somewhere in the client doubt it was my comp because this thing is only like 3 weeks old lol plus i took it to bestbuy 3days ago to just get a routine check up for it they said nothing is wrong mostly went thier just to upgrade my RAM anyhow mine as well have them check it for free aswell ! but my client is working fine no crashes today

Good to hear. From what I have read and been told, if it’s a game client issue a reinstall will useally fix it. My memory was new as well, only 2 months old. It happens.
But for your own safety, NEVER go to bestbuy for any computer issues. They have a well deserved reputation of causing far more problems then they ever fix, and I have first hand experiance with that. I get more business fixing computers that they have “fixed” then anything else. ;-)

Oh yes i KNOW! lol they messed up my first laptop i ordered they gave it to me with a bad harddrive in it so i got this one for free xD only had to pay 39.99 for the free service check ups so :P but usually i got to my cousin house but he is out of town so kinda stuck with no computer help lol

They should have suggested the reinstall as a last ditch effort and not implied you computer was at fault but there is nothing they can technically “fix” to eliminate a possible corrupted download (they can certainly fix incorrect support guidance, however).
