So is anet on a plan to allow people to ban in order to grief someone? Had a person get upset over supplies in WvW last night and after calling me a string of names threatens to get me banned by reporting ME. Now I have played MMO’s since everquest and never been banned or even suspended. usually they require some PROOF or you to be reported by more then ONE player in order to do something like this.

Not only am i suspended for 56 hours but my only way to get resolution is to file a 48 hour trouble ticket?

So one person trying to grief you can lock you out for an entire weekend. just amazing ANET

no – they review it anytime a report is made – it’s the newest info by Gaile.

So what the heck happened? I mean if they go back and pull the chat log great. both of us exchanged words like stfu and moron and whatnot. I can’t imagine that doesn’t happen on a regular basis. i then just put them on ignore and went about my business after like 2 minutes of wasted time.

and i am sorry for the tone of the post I am just very frustrated right now

You should’ve reported him once he called you a “string of names” and threatened you and ignore that user afterwards. But it seems you replied to his provocation and got a well deserved suspension for inappropriate language.

I know the feeling man because we have to suffer for someone who was having a bad day and to make worst while they bad mouth us with vulgar words. They get off scott free because they use the report button on us.

I wish this game could provide warnings than giving automatic bans / suspensions especially for players that don’t really deserve it. I mean at least give us a reason to defend ourselves if we don’t truly know what the issue is. This is very frustrating and also depressing on Anet part. I hope they can improve their service when investigating the case and truly see if the reporter is actually the one at fault here instead of the victim.

If they did their laws like in some other mmos I’ve played and WoW is one of them. Once you get 3 warnings for whatever the case is if it’s your fault. You’ll receive a 71 hours suspension from the game and if it continues 3 more times you’re permanently banned from the game.

This would be a lot easier on the innocent customers because they can make a ticket to support their case if someone is trying to report them due to unnecessary stuff that they aren’t truly at fault and still play the game.

and so what now we play the game i log back in and report him. seems childish. its like running to the teacher each time you get called a bad name… i was not that kid in school nor am i still. get over it and it it was so bad it would have been caught by the in game filter that i assume is built in like all mmo’s

And that amounts to two-way abuse and is the reason for the ban. What is so hard to understand? Don’t bite back, hit your own report button and move along. The second you respond in a similar manner you are no longer the ‘victim’.

2 wrongs don’t make a right. That ain’t never gonna happen.

The team takes banning people very seriously and they review to the detail every report before issuing an action. So please refraim from making false accusations on the team.
