If you want to change your username (e-mail login name) here are the answers:
(edited by Moderator)
it’s very simple.i want to change the email login to another email.
why is it so hard??? i cant do a ticket support cause i dont have the serial key that i bought from g2play(lost the email).right now i cant even login in game?
this is so frustrating and utter garbage support.i’m gettin automated email responses how to bla bla.im sick and tired, ARENANET FIX MY PROBLEM kitten !!!!!!
I just want to make this clear: Did you already open a support ticket and they told you they can’t help due to the lack of serial number? Or are you jut assuming that? I just want to make sure so they can answer your question properly.
Hi all GW2 support!
I would like to be changed with e-mail address in guild wars 2 account the undermentioned reason: my password was hacked, and i want to change this other e-mail address. This would be the new adress: EDIT TO DELETE ACCOUNT NAME.
(edited by Moderator)
Dont post your email adress on the public forums. Also make a support ticket about this. Hope you get lucky cause last time I checked there’s no way to change the email atm.
Hi all GW2 support!
I would like to be changed with e-mail address in guild wars 2 account the undermentioned reason: my password was hacked, and i want to change this other e-mail address. This would be the new adress: EDIT TO DELETE ACCOUNT NAME.
Please do not post your account name on the forums. Please do not submit multiple threads about the same topic. And for help, please contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you. For tips on what information to provide in a ticket, please read this post.
i can’t believe how difficult this appears to be ! I’ve given up on the support system but thought i’d ask here again. I simply want to change my email address that guild wars/arenanet uses to communicate with me!!
is that so strange? i will soon no longer have access to the email address they have on record.
there seems no normal account management functions, the only option in account settings is to change password. Does anyone else think this is dumb?
so they send me an email asking for more detail, to which i reply and i get this nonsense….
“Your recent incident update was from an email address not associated with the incident. In an effort to maintain the security of information, we cannot update the incident using this email address. "
Here is my suggestion
————————————————————
Close your current ticket.
Make new ticket at Ask a question page as following
Issue Type : E-mail Authentication
Subject : Request to change my account/email address
Question :
Hi there ! <—— (Important : Dont forget the smile mark )
I’v heard that my e-mail address can be hacked easily so hopefully I request you
to change the email address associated with my Guild Wars 2 account.
My information is included below
My Guild Wars 2 Serial Code :
My Guild Wars 2 Display Name :
Current email/account address :
New e-mail/account address :
I will look forward to your early response
Thx
—————————————————————————————————————————
just simple and easy, it worked for one of my friends.
:)
The only way to change the email address associated with your account is to lodge a support ticket requesting the change. ArenaNet originally had this function available within the account management system, but due to so many accounts being hacked and the hackers changing the email address to keep the account holder out, ArenaNet removed that function.
Lodge a support ticket politely requesting the email address associated with your account to be changed. I suspect they will also ask for some details on your account, like your serial number, to verify and confirm that you are indeed the account holder before proceeding.
so they send me an email asking for more detail, to which i reply and i get this nonsense….
“Your recent incident update was from an email address not associated with the incident. In an effort to maintain the security of information, we cannot update the incident using this email address. "
That is not nonsense. That is security. What that means is that you submitted a ticket and attempted to update it from another log-in name (that is, using a different email address). For security purposes, we can’t have people randomly updating information from different email addresses — we need to make sure that the right person is updating his/her ticket.
So please update from the email already on record for that incident and it’ll be fine.
Also, this address gets you to your Account Management page: https://account.guildwars2.com/account
Gaile, I’m sorry but you have problems with this system. After have been hacked yesterday and you gave me back the account I’ve been able to change the email through ‘My account’ and ‘Edit profile’.
The option to change it was above the password change, but now I don’t see it.
regardless, if you don’t believe me you can always check with support that mail has been changed twice without sending a ticket (or at least the second time with me, i guess the hacker didn’t send anything)
So i have just had my email address changed to a new, more secure one i had setup.
All that was required by customer services was;
“- Guild Wars 2 Serial Code
– If you purchased Guild Wars 2 from the Guild Wars 2 website, please provide one of the following pieces of information:
- Order ID
- Last four digits (ONLY) and the billing zip/postal code of the credit/debit card used
- PayPal® Transaction ID or the Invoice ID associated with the purchase"
Now I know a physical copy is pretty much the safest option here as unless a cracker can physically get into your house and obtain your CD key then you are relatively safe. However all the information required if you purchased digitally can be obtained from one email should your email account become compromised.
I find this quite disconcerting, if you were short sighted enough to have similar email and game passwords and one was compromised, all the hacker would need to do is search for one email than I’m sure none of us have deleted.
The remedy is quite simple, remove the option to confirm using the order ID, if you paid by card, the last four digits of your card shouldnt be readily searchable in your emails. In regards to paypal, i often delete transaction records as they are stored on the paypal website, surely others could do the same.
As a precautionary measure I’ve printed out my serial, put it in my GW1 box and deleted the email, belt and braces and all!
TL;DR remove Order ID as an option of verifying your account with customer services to reduce those compromised when email and game account passwords are cracked.
Due to some safety concerns I want to change my e-mail log-in. Why do we not have this option, Guild Wars 1 client itself allowed us to do this.
Once you authenticate your email you cannot change it without contacting support.
I hope some one can help me out here i just got hacked and my e mail got changend so i cant login how do i get my acount e mail back . If been playing this game just a couple of days.

I have send you a ticket to change my E-mail adress (2day ago) and didn’t get response.
Maybe you have send me a mail but I can’t read it cause my emailis hacked.
I can play on my old account but just to be sure it is better to change it.
greetings
My friend has just bought Guild wars 2. He went through all the processes to make the account and they asked him to verify the email address by going on to it and clicking the link provided by Arena net. He could not log onto his email to verify it because it was hacked prior to setting up Guild wars 2. He is now trying to get an email change since he cant access the email with the verification in it. He has sent in a ticket already and there was no help. Has anyone had this happen or is anyone able to help?
Thank you.
Never mind. My friend got his account up and running now.

Hey, I’d like to change my E-mail address as soon as possible…
Thank you!
Now that microsoft has announced that they are shutting down hotmail, Anet could be looking at a few tickets that require e-mail address changes.
(edited by Blude.6812)
I requested to change my email address on my account.
I provide ALL information requested by the form in the Support Ticket process.
The response I received was that they need a copy of my receipt to verify purchase!!!
What the heck is that all about? I’m supposed to save a purchase receipt from many months ago in the off chance that I might want to change my email address?
This is ridiculous.
I just received a second response after my reply to their receipt request.
They changed my email address for me after my response.
Thank you NCsoft.

need to change my email account
Hey. I need to change mail because my friend cheated me.
Just put in a support request for an email change. Hopefully they get working at it soon, as I’ve got a good reason to believe that this particular email account is vulnerable to attack and unwanted intrusion. I understand why ArenaNet have this “contact support” policy, however I believe it may be counter-intuitive in terms of combating hackers and account phishers.
Hello
I have send you a ticket for changing my E mail adress.

I hope you can fix this for me.
greetings Bjorn

Why can I not change my e-mail from their? The link is worthless if we can not manage our account.

i have submitted a ticket, although lost my serial when i comp crashed! lets see how it goes….
Ticket number #130905-000097
I need to change my current email address to the new one (in the ticket). I have just submitted the ticket just a few minutes ago :-) Kindly please expedite this humble request. Thanks a lot.
My old email company just canceled all accounts and I have one week to get everything sorted out – made a new email account and switched everything except my anet account, I went into account details and there’s nothing that lets me change my email, how do I do it?
You will need to create a ticket or email support. It’s the only way.

Just a quick note – since this ancient thread was last updated, they’ve made some changes to the support pages. These days it seems to be called ‘submit a request’ , not ‘ask a question’.
When you go to the support page and search for ‘change email address’, it’s funny that there’s no article on it!
I submitted a support ticket to change my email, and they responded in about 30 minutes. Excellent response rate.
I can’t change my email, nowhere any button to change or edit it
