Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 wants to change my mesmer name: Elizabeth Báthory. Because are words not permitted. Any reason?
There are so much characters with names like my mesmer. Elizabeth Bathory, Elizabeth Bàthory, Erzsébet Báthory….
I’m sure that these characters arent banned because of their names.
Must I change my name forever? Or Can I wait for… something?

Sorry i just had to say that is an awesome name. The legend of Elizabeth Bathory has always fascinated me. The band Bathory is pretty cool too :P

From the Guild Wars 2 rules of conduct:

3. You may not create character names or otherwise transmit, post, link to or facilitate the distribution of any sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, infringing, obscene, hateful, vulgar, racially or ethnically offensive, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or objectionable in a reasonable person’s view imagery or content.

Take that as you will. I’ll leave my opinion omitted.

it very well might be disallowed because of the legend… most games frown upon real world characters being in the game. … especially one as notorious as this

Considering Liz Bathory is over 500 years old is it even still relevant to today’s society and culture? Most people who don’t know history probably haven’t heard of her.
