Correct IP Address,Wrong location SOLVED
What’s My IP reports the address of the owner of that IP block. Since many ISPs are now cable or telco companies, those addresses tend to point to where all the IPs for that service connects to the Internet infrastructure. For instance I have ATT DSL and “What’s my IP” says I’m located some 30-40 miles away because that’s where all the DSL nodes eventually connect up to the Internet from ATT’s internal network.

so its okay for me? sorry for being ignorant
Well unless it’s saying you’re connecting from China, yea you should be fine. Right now it doesn’t even list a location on the security page here, just my IP address. Same one I’ve been using for the last 18 months.

Sounds like.
You say it’s your IP, and matches your ISP. The “city” of an IP can vary depending on how it connects to the internet, and something less than an hours drive away isn’t uncommon. I believe I’ve seen people here with their IP showing in another state due to how it’s registered.

I’ve seen mine with a correct IP but showing from some other city some distance away. Apparently, as long as the IP is correct that is what you go by.
Okay probably I’m too much paranoiac or something. thanks for answers.
The email confirmation comes very quickly after I click “log in” also I mean
the cities is shown wrong as well as in email and “whats my ip” site too. Just like
you said, I was used my previous IP for months and now suddenly changed.
the city I keep getting wrong in the far side on my country thats what I make me
worried, not 40, 50 miles. And I also keep getting same wrong city in protection
email, not different everytime.
Ok now I must go to take my pills, or I will become more suspicious for nothing lol

One way to check is, not only is it your IP but when does it appear. If it only shows up when you attempt to log on and at no other times then it is coming from a request from your computer. If it was someone else then they would be attempting to log on at other times than just when you are.
I was suspicious about the strange locations with my IP but realized they were only showing up when I tried to log on. Exactly those times and no others so it had to be triggered by my computer.

The location is what your ISP would report as the source of that IP address (nothing to do with ANet itself). It usually has to do with where your ISP actually connects to the internet backbone level switch, but does not have to.
If the IP address matches, I wouldn’t worry about it, but if you must find out, your ISP is the place to ask (not here).
