Hello

I have sent an appeal on 2 occasions because of unjust cultural infractions. I posted twice about something that’s entirely normal in Europe but apparently can’t be discussed in a mature manner on the other side of the Atlantic.
In one case I even double checked the ToS to make sure my post would be valid on the boards. In my opinion it was. Apparently consuming vast quantities of alcohol is just fine cfr. the drunkard title but other legal drugs are taboo? How am I supposed know that?

The other was about Sylvari exploring their sexuality in a thread that was about Sylvari exploring their sexuality … Apparently hitting nails on heads, while on topic in a thread with a very clear title will result in an infraction … To put in perspective, yesterday I discussed the exact same topic with someone I just met because it is just not taboo anymore here.

Because I refuse to take responsibility for not knowing American cultural limits, I sent two appeals for those two cultural infractions. I never received a response, neither a confirmation nor revocation of my infraction.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

Not knowing the rules, will not save from punishment. No court of law accepts such an exception, why should somebody else.
You accepted the rules here. These rules are wide, so that Anet can decide. They decided. No need to talk about it now.

Live with it or suffer the consequences.

you can still post, they could ban you from the forms if you get too many.

Clearly you didn’t read my post so let me be clear. I did read the rules before posting. I adhered to them by staying on topic and within legal limits as described in the rules. As such an infraction was not warranted for either case.

People have a right to appeal because rules can be applied unjustly. There are no valid consequences for my actions since they fall within the rules of the boards. Hence the appeal. No further need for you to contribute if you fail at reading the issue at hand.

But you did not read the rules before trying a bad name on a character.

…Because I refuse to take responsibility for not knowing American cultural limits, …

And you are the one, who is going to defend yourselve with innocence and not knowing.
It simply won’t work.

Since we are adult, we have to take responsibility for our actions – even for those that involuntary harm, insult or hurt other people. That’s life.

We don’t follow “American” cultural values. We try for _global_cultural values. That means that what plays in Peoria may not play in Poland, and we therefore try for the more sensitive levels.

Guild Wars 2 players come from around the world, from different cultures, nations, ages, genders, political and religious persuasions… Try for a more global view and take the first infraction as an opportunity to better understand our standards, which I assure you are reasonable.
