Friend banned for being hacked?
Surely there’s atleast SOMETHING that can be done.

He needs to open a ticket with support. Click on support on the top of this site, then the “Ask a question” link. If he has not heard anything after 3 days, he can post in the “Tickets for Review (3 days and older) [merged]” sticky thread at the top of this forum section.
Gold selling bans means almost always that your friends account has been compromised (being hacked). Being hacked means someone found out his log-in details. This is either cause he used a username password also used on e.g. a forum or cause his computer is being monitored (e.g. a keylogger).
To get his account unsuspended he needs to file a support ticket. It is very likely he has to prove he bought that account (the product key will do). He will then get back access.
Also let him review his own online security. Im not saying it is his fault, but it isn’t arenanet’s fault either. Gold seller company’s are highly organised criminal organisations. Let him read this article:

Not exactly. for the longest time there was a Chinese group going around hacking everyone. or trying to anyway. I kept getting E-mails about them trying to log into my account from China for instance. I know a lot of people who this happened to, but they just stopped caring. This guy is a bit special in that I want to help him.

Can you post while banned?

Some say they can, some say they can’t. either way, you can still contact support even if banned, and if he can’t post, you can post for him in the 3 days or older thread as long as you post his ticket number so Gail can reference it. Like mercury said, he may have had his account hacked and if so he should be able to get it back.
Thanks everyone for your help! They say they can help him! I wish I could mark you guys as great helpers or something..
It’s ok and no problem.

I’m glad that folks explained this to you: Usually, stolen accounts are used for bad purposes. Not necesarily farming, but gold deliveries, stealing other accounts, scamming, etc. When we note that an account may have been compromised, we’ll try to lock it down. Sometimes, another report will show that the thief was doing bad things. And the account holder — the legitimate owner — will feel as if s/he is getting mixed messages: Why am I banned? I was the victim!
Don’t worry, Support can and will sort this out!
