Every time I have bought gems in the past month, Bank of America has temporarily frozen my credit card and called me to determine if my card is being used fradulently. I can use my card online at many other stores/websites and this is not a problem.

Is there something about the way NCSoft is charging my card which is freaking out Bank of America in particular? Is this your fault or theirs? Since they don’t flag my account for any of my other online purchases, I have to wonder if it isn’t some way that the game or NCSoft’s back end software is screwing up the purchase attempt which is setting off an automatic flag with BoA.

I can’t think of any way that our transactions are getting flagged as being more risky than others. I’m sorry for the inconvenience — I wonder if there’s a way for BofA to “white list” your purchases through the Gem Store.

Thanks, I’ll look online for a white list option and give them an opportunity to explain why they are being overly sensitive on this one vendor. I would have thought after manually okaying my previous gem purchases they would have learned that it is fine, but I guess not as well.

Fikfain, You may want to think about changing credit card companies. BofA seems to have some clueless folks in their fraud detection unit. I had this same problem with one of their credit cards that I was using to pay monthly subscription charges for another game. Out of the blue my game account subscription expired because BofA had declined a monthly charge. I called to find out why and what I could do to prevent this from happening in the future. The representative put me on hold so she could talk to her supervisor. When she came back, I was told that online gaming wasn’t something that BofA would authorize to be charged on their cards. Needless to say, I used another companies card for my game subscription and got rid of the BofA card.
