Guild Vault Access for deposit/withdrawl

very old account, I’ve been playin since Beta weekend.

A few days ago, I inadvertenly clicked “stand down” instead of “represent” my personal guild in the guild panel – therby leaving my personal guild (DOH). I asked one of my friends in my personal guild (that was online at the time) to reinvite me back to my personal guild & he did. He set/checked all my permissions to officer rank/level (I can see that all permissions are checked). I can access my personal guild vault EXCEPT I can’t deposit/withdraw ANYTHING (all items are “grayed out” – I can see em but can’t interact with them). This happened over 72 hours ago

I wish the 2 buttons (stand down & represent) weren’t right next to each other or at least a different color from each other….

Anyway, what do I need to do in order to deposit/withdraw the stuff to/from the vault?

It’s likely just a timing thing. I’m pretty sure “new” guild members aren’t allowed access to the guild bank as a safety pre-caution. We’ve all seen jerks that ask for a guild invite, loot the bank then leave. (Yeah, I know. The obvious answer is just not to set newbies permissions for bank, but a lot of guilds do).

I’m not sure what the time limit is, but try again tomorrow or just wait a week. Since you left the guild and returned the game is treating you the same as a new guildie. If you need something immediately then perhaps your friend can withdraw it and mail it to you.

Well, I am impressed with The Scarlet Raven’s reasoning, and I think it’s not a bad idea at all, but but I confess I wasn’t aware (or possibly simply do not remember) that there is a cool-down period for new guild members to have access to the guild bank. Nor does my favorite resource — The GW2 Wiki about guild vaults have such info, either.

So I’m just not sure that feature exists, nor that it would explain your problem, doomfodder. Let me check into this and I’ll update when I confirm precisely how it works. The devs made improvements to the game all the time, and perhaps this IS how things function; I just want to make sure before I post.

In the meantime, could you kindly update this thread if you find you got access to the guild bank? (And are you on the correct world? Just making sure. )

It’s been in for a long time now, though, from what my (faulty) memory tells me, it had nothing to do with guild safety precautions and a lot with anti-gold seller features. I don’t remember the specific reasoning behind this, however.

Syberdoor is right, this is done to solve an exploit (something to do with vault transports in summoned in dungeons and newly invited guildmembers being able to duplicate items).

Even though it was over 72 hours, it may not change until that day’s reset. Just a guess. Maybe you can let us know if you got in after the 4th day. =)

Well, there ya go, and thank you so much, folks, for finding that confirmation. Another fine game feature at your service!

I did confirm that there is a 72-hour (3 day) waiting period for new guild members to use the guild bank. doomfodder, I’m figuring you don’t have long to wait before you’ll be able to make those transfers.

Gosh and golly, I sure wish someone ~hint, hint~ would update the Guild Vault page on the GW2 Wiki to show that feature.
