They banned my name, X Captain America X. It was my favorite character, and I was running engineer on it. I checked the actual guy’s name who had Captain America, without the extra letters, and of course he was not banned, but mine was. If they don’t give me back my favorite character’s name I’m done, and this will be the last time I’ve associated with a net.

Goodbye! You knew the name would violate intellectual property law yet you still chose to use it.

It’s very safe to say that you won’t be getting it back.

No need to be a jerk to him, and he makes a valid point in that, why was the guy with the name Captain America not asked to name change?

If the other guy wasnt reported, then support wouldnt be able to investigate. The OP was reported and was actioned as per the rules.

I’m actually trying to get my name back, and If you’re not arena net, then I don’t need your negative replys. I’d rather get an answer from them. And again I state i didn’t steal anyone’s name X Captain America X, is not Captain America…

There are a hundred of people that use super hero names, and other characters from different franchises there should no reason to be a copy right issue unless the actual developers use it in their own game.

Intellectual property law says different. The developers can easily be sued for allowing it in the game without permission.

Also, read the terms and conditions of the game. It is very very VERY unlikely you will ever get it back. If you want to check for yourself, you need to submit an ingame ticket politely and not rage in it like you have done in this thread at every turn.

There is no such thing as an ‘in-game’ ticket, and nothing he has said has led me to think he is ‘raging’… however your comments are pretty negative.

In truth, no, he probably won’t get his name back, which sucks. But you don’t need to make things worse.

well, sam, hopefully you didn’t put Samwise Gamgee as any of your characters because A net support told me it was copyright infrigement and that they could not do anything about it.

My attitude doesnt really factor into it when i gave out correct info. It is against the TOC’s of this game. But if the OP wants to contest it, the only way forward is a support ticket. Not the forums.
