Hacked Accounts Error: 7:11:3:189:101
Unfortunately, the poor security setup is your own, not ANet’s. I won’t presume to speak for you, but if you’ve been hacked, it means that you had a breach in security in that someone acquired your account/password combination. If they were also able to log into your email account and validate their own logins, that means your email has also been jeopardized. That is a crucial security issue that you must resolve, not ANet.
Steps to help with this in the future:
- Use a unique, memorable, but tough password for each different account (game account, email account, etc.)
- Change your email address
- Verify that your computer is not infected with any malware that may be tracking your keystrokes or other such information
- Read Mike O’Brien’s article on account security here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/mike-obrien-on-account-security/
Furthermore, if you continue to have issues logging into your account due to hackers getting into it, create a support ticket and they will help you get your account back. After that, the matter of account security rests with you.
Good luck!
Thanks for the response, i was just seraching through other posts that is facing similar issues to what i am currently facing and I personally don’t think its my fault. A mobile authenticator is useful but sadly not all of us can afford a smartphone. My password is unique, i made it years ago and i never have been hacked with this password nor does anyone else know about it (Completely positive). I’ve updated and scanned my computer completely for any malware or keyloggers etc…etc… and i’ve been blessed for being able to change my accounts password while i was still able to log into my account. I did send a ticket just about an hour ago and am still waiting for a reply.
Though id like to point out that im not the only one who is currently having this issue. im starting to see more and more frequent posts of similar situations to what i am currently going through.
If this is happening to a bunch of people, especially if their “high ranked” or dedicated players to this game, then its clearly NOT just my fault. This probebly wouldn’t have mattered in the first place if the (Webpage where you can disconnect the other clients) worked in the first place.
I do really appreciate your response, and i will follow through with your steps to see if it will help to prevent this in the future, but as of now my the hacker is still on my account and i can’t log on because hes logged on and i want to resolve this problem ASAP.
Though id like to say thankyou to the hacker for level me 3 more levels to 80 :P saves me the grinding time haha.
P.S i read the website, and i guess i was parshly to blame for this, i did switch my password to something completely new and unique. thank you but still have problems with logging on to my account.

Well, clearly your password must be known to a hacker if he has hacked you. Furthermore, you say you made it years ago, which means it’s been in-use for lots of things, and possibly one of those other things had a security breach that has given hackers your password. There are any countless number of ways this could work out to a hacker getting your password without it being ANet’s fault.
One thing that’s really important to remember:
There are hundreds of thousands of players of GW2 and a scant few hundred people getting hacked by hackers. The percentage of users that are hacked in GW2 is astronomically low. These incidents you read about on the forums are isolated and result from user-end security issues.
ANet actively monitors this forum, and actively helps with hacked accounts, and actively works on further improvements to account security all the time. Did you know ANet has a team dedicated specifically to account security? A lot of people who get hacked like to think their personal security is impenetrable, but the reality in almost all cases is that it isn’t. The best thing to do is to get your account back and be more mindful of account security in the future.
For the record, if support doesn’t get back to you in three days time with the ticket you just made, make a post in the following thread so that Gaile can help you out. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged/page/34#post390052
Alright, thank you for replying once again! i’ll definitely post to Gaile if anything. Thank you once again and i do wish to hear other comments if anyone else have something to say.
Rising Dusk your clueless theres 300+ People who have been hacked ( The games Wealthiest players ) have been targeted within 1-2 weeks its nothing to do with the consumers security its to do with ANET Databases that have been breached and compromised the reason they are saying nothing is AS there job they are not allowed to give out false hope etc So They will not reply until that Databases are safe AGAIN.

This is patently untrue. Our databases are just fine, thanks, and there have been no server security breaches. We are investigating the cases (although I don’t know where 300+ came from!) just as we investigate each one that is reported to us.
Please do not start rumours or initiate conspiracy theories. Your statements are simply not accurate.
