Hackers Logging into my account
LOL love the second log-in attempt from chang… Dude be happy they didnt get your hotmail account. They got mine and locked me out by closing it. Now I’’m stuck waiting for support to change everything to my new hotmail. 120929-000850 <—-just so they see it and possibly speed up my problem. Desperately want to play our servers loosing in wvw cause i’’m not there :p
this keeps happening to me every few days there are one or 2 attempts to get in >_<
same for me:

would be nice if I could block regions in my account before hand.
Like: Block everything except EU.
Many people just don’t know how to avoid such
things really. Not bashing anyone, just saying that it
must also be the responsibility of the individual user to
learn enough about computing and thus security, to avoid
many of these things. Granted, even experts do suffer though.
Best of luck to you guys.
I got hacked 23 minutes ago, I know cause the authentication email is timestamped. Thankfully my email and GW2 account have different passwords.

I find this utter BS that I’m getting a verification from another country. It if was my own country then sure maybe it would look less suspicious. I think that being able to block regions or countries would be nice, not sure if it’s been done before but the option would be nice. I’m not travelling anywhere anytime soon so why would I allow other countries access to my account?
Would be nice to block ips from asia becouse its the main source of hacks
Blocking IP’s is 100% useless and wont achieve anything.

its not
wish they add option to block any ip thats outside your town or country

It totally is. If you block them, they will just start using Proxies.
Me too !!! I don’t know where they get my account and my password !!!

I’m so freak out right now.
My suggestion is to use a master email account from hotmail and create a alias within that email account (hotmail only) Make sure the 2 emails sound VERY different from each other, this way your guild wars email (the alias) has no password and can not be logged in but needs the master account email AND password to access it.
This way if they know your alias email they cannot log in using that email, they need to know what the master account email is.

Please read this article. It explains it all: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/mike-obrien-on-account-security/
And be sure you change your password and consider using email or mobile authentication (initiated from a secure system).
