Home world change – ANet refuses to resolve

Few days back I’ve noticed a strange thing – I’ve been playing on Fissure of Woe home world since the day 1 but now it said that my home world is Fort Ranik instead.

I’ve never purchased any gems so I couldn’t switch servers by accident, so I reported this issue to ANet support team.

I started playing on Fissure of Woe in 2012 and created all my characters there. I am pretty sure FoW was still my home server when I logged in last week. Today I checked and it says that my home server is Fort Ranik.

I’ve never purchased any gems so I could not made the transfer myself, and IP adresses in Authorized Networks look OK to me. Is my account compromised or is it some kind of error on your side?

I’d very much like to return to my original server since my friends play there.

Thanks…

Two days in, I got a reply.

Hello Stanislav,

Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.

I understand how you might feel but unfortunately your account is not eligible for support assistance in transferring between game worlds. If you would like to change game worlds, please use gems to do so.

I am sorry that we could not fulfill you request in this situation, but please let us know if you have any other questions we can address.

Regards,

GM Wicho

WTF?

I’m sure they can see my gems purchase history or the history of my home world transfers, so why are they forcing me to pay them real world money just to solve what appears to be their bug?

What should I do now? I am not from the US so legal action against ANet just don’t seem right =D (EDIT: since people got confused, this was attempted joke)

EDIT:

Ticket # is 354116

Keep updating your ticket. Ask for assistance from a supervisor. Ask for assistance from the Support Liaison. Just a few suggestions. Good luck.

First of all, I would recommend you remove the threat with legal actions.
Legally, the statusb is that you agreed with the terms of service, and in there it is clearly stated that Arenanet is allowed to place you on another server whenever they want to.
It is a matter of trust that they don’t do this at random or without any good reason.

The result off threatening with legal actions is that every answer you get will be authorized by the legal department and strictly following that what Arenanet needs to do and not an inch more. Cause that is nothing the result will be that they won’t change anything.

(on a side note, it doesn’t matter a lot if you are a us citizen or not, you can take legalactions if you want to. All you need to do is hire a laywer in the same state as Arenanet and they can take the legal actions for you, you don’t have to be a us-citizen to do so).

So I strongly suggest you remove that threat. While you are at it, I would also recommend you add your ticket number to your post. I’m pretty sure that a certain arenanet official is very happy to review the situation for you and see what is really going on. but she will need your ticketnumber.

Arise, ye farmers of all nations
Arise, opressed of Tyria!

mercury ranique.2170 – I am not really threatening ANet with any legal actions, this is attempted joke since people from the US tend to sue anybody for anything. I wouldn’t waste my time and energy on lawsuit against PC games developer =D

First, please never “joke” about legal matters. I’m glad that it was just a joke, but comments of that sort can result in ticket closure. If someone truly is heading down the lawsuit path, we generally will not expend more support efforts (as they likely will be wasted) but instead will provide legal contact information and allow legal proceedings to move forward, if that is the customer’s desire.

Secondly, here are the exact notes from your ticket: “The player contacted us because he thinks he was hacked and transferred to another world. There is no evidence that he was transferred, or that his account was compromised.”

Thirdly, since you are asking for a review, please post your ticket number in the Tickets for Review thread and I will close this post. Thank you for understanding.
