I had my account compromised are 25 days.
Regained access the account after 2 days and realized that my items had been stolen.
In the midst of these items had a pre-cursor bow, The Lover.
I opened several tickets to support this time asking that they be looked at the logs, I posted several prints of my bow being sold in TP (TP sales history) and always got the answer that you could not do anything about it.
I tried one more time to farm gold to try to craft the The Lover again after spending more than 80g it. I continue without my pre-cursor.
How is it possible that Anet leave us helpless in this situation?
We are in the hands of unscrupulous hackers, and moreover, knowing that nothing can be done besides get your account back. Farewell items, gold Goodbye, goodbye all.
It is the question? Is there any tool or visualization procedures in the server logs that might help us in these cases?
I hope to see my The Lover again? or should I just settle for excuse us.

When your account gets hacked i don’t believe the can refund any items or gold but they can replace any gems you might have lost.

I take care of all my passwords and everything, but it happened, they should have a way to see where it was sent to my gold or my items, and restore it, especially when dealing with a rare item such as The Lover.
Seriously, it makes me sick.
The guy breaks into, steals, profits. I, the customer, should be protected from these things, I get just one, we can do nothing.

Normally when you get hacked it is to do with lack of security on your behalf. the guild wars email and password being the same as your email or the passwords the same but with 1 on the end of it.
Other people have been hacked because their information was stolen from other games and they used the same or similar password for guild wars 2.
If you have ever had your email account compromised in the past then dont use it again for online games. Make sure all passwords are completely different from each other and you shouldn’t have any issues.
So the question remains, have you been hacked before in other games? are you passwords to similar? Do you have decent security on you pc to try and stop keyloggers etc.
EDIT: I understand your frustration but in terms of security there is only so much game companies can do if any of the above applies to you then it was a lack of security on your behalf.
Its like leaving your car sitting around with the keys in it, not the car company or insurance companies fault, yours.
If you have though about the above and can say with 100% confidence that you have looked after your accounts as much as possible then yes anet needs to do something.

I have played wow, lineage, several online games, use my email for years and have never been hacked.
Working with computers, my passwords are hard with especials characters, to difficult an action for hacker people.
I do not know why I had my account compromised, but it took me a good, got in touch with anet, got the account back, I changed all my passwords.
My only problem is my pré-cursor bow , I can not understand why they are so hard to see the server logs of the day I was hacked (there must be tools for that, to filter this information)
Or look at all the prints I sent, showing the historic trading post, the item sold. look at all that gold was sent from my account to a third I do not know who is.
And just get the gold that other account and return my item. That’s all I wanted.

all that was stolen from you that was provided for you by Anet was your account. you got that back. They can’t give you back your time, but you did get the account you purchased legaly from them back.

Was your email and password for wow the same or similar to GW2?
As your information could have been stolen from any of those games and you may not have got hacked then and there.

No further gold, has spent more than 80 again trying to make The lover … I’m about to give up playing, I was pretty upset about that these days I played. a sense of loss, their hands tied.
the solution is to wait for the good will of this tool for recovery and hope that my case will be assessed.

I think it is so terrible that you release the game without a restore character function. You SHOULD have known that people were going to get hacked and I find it disgusting that you can’t help those people who paid for your game. I tell you now that if I get hacked (and I’d better not because I have done ever step you guys have said to) I will kick up a giant s**t storm over it and demand that the items I have paid for are given back. From a MMO in this day and age a restore function is vital and for you guys to only be saying “…in the future…” is NO small comfort at all.

When the restore function Gaile is referring to is done, it is my understanding that it will be an ACCOUNT rollback.

If they are able to restore to a point before the tool was implemented, you’d loose xp, gold, etc – everything – you’ve done since your account was jacked and restored to you.

I have also have had my account cleared and wiped. Unless its happen to you can’t just say tough luck. . As the others mention i have no idea how it happened and what not but it did. I undstand the website thing or game logins. But I dont belong to any forums and the only game i ever played was wow with different info.
I cant even change my pw in this game with out a email verification and char name and my cd key. I have no clue how they managed to change my email/acct
My account name/email was changed with no verification in email . Only with a email saying your email has change i hope that it is you.
I use unique pws with my the few games ive played . My pw was very uncommon with a numbers in it.
All answers I get too are copy pasted scripts . Will the person be investigated/punished , is there any ways to get the 10k gems or any of the 100+ gold acquired
In other online games people get punished/banned for scamming or what not .
The situation with the car is different: Sometimes when you do take the precautions to lock your car up. They still can be stolen. The insurance company does take care of that part to insure what every happened with a form if reimbursement
The main issue at hand is that there is no insurance to what happens . having no roll back in an mmorg at this time in point when most do have it just in case of many situations.
It is a very disheartening situation

Well, problem is I was hacked a few days ago. I talked to custiomer service and they said they can’t restore even in the future. But what adds insult to injury is that now they ban my account for engaging with gold trading?!?!?! I was hacked…. Arenanet doesn’t communicate with each other or read their email or something? I’m like beyond kitten Losing my items were bad enough but have to ban me afterward too? Would you like to show up at my doorstep and slap me in the face while you are at it?

Do not mind having to roll back a month to recover from my account just like there was 1 month ago.
With my pre legendary bow The Lover, and my other items…
