This after Guild wars 2 decided to enforce a athorisation email linked to my ip.

Additionaly my email requires a authorisation code if being used from a different ip.

Oh and as if the above werent funny enough already, why in the name of whichever god you want to put faith in, would they only steal 1 gold and leave all my other silver/gear alone?

I am following up on this via response option to my ticket but if this copy and paste crap is any indication, I dont expect anything valid to follow, which is why Im posting here.

You are missing 1 gold? Did you only have 1 gold at the time? I mean if the “hacker” somehow bypassed the ip-mail then they would prolly just talke the gold and dont bother about the rest? Escpecially when you only have low level chars with no items that represent real value.

Or as he stated, did you buy something at the trading post excedentally? One thing i’m sure of gold doesnt just dissapear.

A-net gets load of false “missing” item requestes i bet so they have there standard reply ready i suppose.

Bascialy I had around 1 gold 70 silver in my inventory.

Was doing some basic pve questing, selling junk, moving around completing hearts and when I looked a while later in the evening I was down to around 40 silver for no aparent reason.

Checked bank / guild bank and hadnt deposited anything. At this point hadnt realy botherd with trading post either so its not like I was trying to buy or sell anything.

So needless to say I was scratching my head and wondering where a large chunk of my very first characters gold had disapeard to.

I have searched this on the net and even seen a few other people on the forums make similar complaints. Its not an isolated incedent and as I said in my first ticket to the support staff, if they could at least show me where that gold went to then it would help a lot.

Instead I get a copy and paste response from somone who obviously cant be botherd to do their job correctly.

I also find it hard to believe that a company that supposedly cracks down on gold hacks/farmers doesnt have the tools to check what has or hasnt been done with a characters funds.

I’m also confused, if you were online with your character the whole time, it would be impossible for someone else to log onto your account and steal gold.

Perhaps the issue just isn’t being made clear here, their response seems inline with what you are suggesting. What are you thinking happened to the 1 gold?

Also, on a side note, my husband noticed his funds depleting. He was questing, moving around the map, finishing off vistas, etc. He mentioned to me that he thought he might have holes in his character’s pockets because he seemed to be losing money at a fairly rapid pace. I sat and watched him play for a little bit and pointed out to him that, because of his level increase, the cost of using a waypoint had significantly increased. (because he justs clicks ok and doesn’t read the fine print) While he assumed it was still costing 56 copper to travel to Lions Arch, he didn’t realize it was actually costing him 1 silver 94 copper. It doesn’t take long for those sorts of transactions to add up. I’m not saying this is definitely the case for you – but worth mentioning to anyone reading.

Well in one of the low level areas noobs have complained about the cannon that shoots you to a vista point. If you talk to this npc at the wrong time he wants you to bet 50 silver. A mistaken noob unknowingly will think it is part of the cannon shoot, But it isn’t. (Even I almost fell for that one my first time)
Is it possible this was a thing you were doing at the time?

Why are you making such a big deal about 1 gold anyways? 1 gold is very easy to get, I get a few just doing events in orr!

If your not going to support this post, Posting useless info is pointless to us, And everyone reading.

For me 1 gold would be the biggest part of my cash aswell. And took me a long time to get since playing lots of characters on low level area’s doesnt get you that much cash.

If you found some othe people having the same problem you should remake your ticked with supporting links from forum posts. If they see its something common then they might be more wiling to fix it.

Also did you log-off or get kicked out of the game? Cuz if you whre like gone for 10 mins a hacker could have easaly take your gold i guess.

Again it sounds to me he was not hacked. It was most likely what I have stated before.
If a hacker wanted to steal his money to screw him over, They would have deleted his characters too. Along with stealing 100% of it not 2/3.
And for a hacker to keep track of an account with such little pay off, would be a waste of time.

How is this a joke response? The CS tells you 1) They can’t restore items,gold etc and 2) if you’re sure you didn’t spend it maybe you are compromised. Seems pretty reasonable from what I read. With that said you may have spent some money and not even remembered it. Did you repair your gear? Did you buy more salvage kits? both of those are things you may do so often you just don’t recall doing them.

Thanks, that actually ties in with the issue I initially complained about.

I was just trying to get the vista and didnt realise the npc was actually going to place a real bet.

I did try to go back to this later to check but couldnt get the text to pop up to confirm or deny if it was this which took my gold away.

I know 1 gold isnt much to some people but it is to a new player on their first char.

At least now I can carry on playing the game without worrying where my funds are disapearing to.

So it wasn’t being hacked, i guess thats a good thing ^^

Although you have confirmed it was what I stated. I strongly suggest you keep track of Unauthorized login’s and Things disappearing. Better safe then sorry.
I would even go as far as a password change. You should not risk $60 and all the stress getting your account back.

Community in Guild Wars 1 was always great and so far indeed i’ve got the same experience with Guild Wars 2

Oh no worries on that count luridftw.4536, Im going to be watching my funds/bank/gear like a hawk from now on. ^^

I also like the current logins page showing which ip/location is currently playing.
