Just a thought

So a friend of mine and I were talking about the recent waves of hacking and the reports of people seeing hackers logged into friends accounts. and others sitting watching helplessly as a guild leaders compromised account cleans out their guild bank. I had seen reports of people submitting tickets and the hackers still not being stopped in time, due to the need of the reps need to check facts and investigate.
I made the comment that it would be nice to see a link on the site where a person could go and enter the original email account that was used for creation and their CD key and get the account instantly logged out of the game and blocked pending a Response to a ticket.
Given that those two bits of information may be very difficult for anyone other than the original owner to actually have, it should be a fairly reliable method of quickly booting unauthorized users from your account. both for A-net who should be able to assume that it is in fact a legit request from the actual owner. and for the player who with any luck can stop a hack attempt before they make off with everything.
This could also reduce the work a customer service rep needs to do to repair hacker damage. And of course restoration of the account would have to go through the normal ticket system which would verify fully the information of the account.
This is a very interesting idea. This isn’t a Suggestions Forum, but in this case I think it would be warranted to share this with the team, so I will do so. There may be very good reasons why this would not be a good idea, but I do agree with you that having the original user name (not a changed one, also agreed) and the serial code could be hard for a hacker to acquire.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Nice idea, however please keep in mind that in e-mail account is compromised and the game is a digital edition, they could have the serial key.

This may be true, but if an account is hacked they will want to use the account, not lock themselves out of using it.
If a hacker has gotten into emails, then its likely he or she will have requested a password reset, put a new password in, and gone into their game and started clearing their stuff.
I personally dont see a hacker getting into your emails, then locking your account until ANet looks into the account. That would be a very dumb hacker.
In that case, the player could request an email change and be playing again very quickly.
I think this is a great idea.
Also – great job all your hard working account restorers! Good friend of mine got his account back in 5 days. Sure its not blazing fast, but you guys are busy has all heck.
Keep up the hard work!
