Q:
Linking accounts....

A:
I linked my GW1 and GW2 accounts on the account management page, my question is do you have to have the Eye Of The North Expansion to get the benefits of the two accounts being linked together? I have all the expansions of the original GW1 except that one,
Yes. The only carryover is earned through the Hall of Monuments, which is available exclusively in Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

All benefits from GW1 are counted as achievements from Hall of Monuments.
To register any kind of achievements in HoM you have to have access it, so you have to do first couple of quests from EyeoftheNorth Expansion.
I’m not sure, but probably gw1 title “GWAMM” doesn’t need registering in HoM, and benefits of it could be acquired in gw2 without EotN
I saw recently many cheaper editions of EotN, so you have to count the benefits of buying it.

Your achievements will be exported via Kimmes the Historian in Eye of the North of GWEN. You can see them with the external Hall of Monuments calculator, which you can call by talking to Kimmes in GW1 too.
In GW2 you receive a stone (or you pick it up at a trader for free in Lion’s Arch – some first characters don’t get it automatically). With the help of the stone you go to the Hall of Monuments and there you talk to the ghostly Kimmes, who offers most of the benefits.
As you need Kimmes, I guess you need GWEN too.
Yeah I can talk to Kimmes in GW2 and he just tells me about a old hero, so i guess I need GWEN, sigh another $20 I gotta spend, lol

It’s available for less than $20 at a famous online retailer who shares a name with a river…
And probably elsewhere too.

Wow, i saw EotN for twice less recently.
I will advice once more use the HoM calculator to check the prices you will get… and if it is worth to buy it ;-)
