Mailing Gold To Partner?
Hi,
I’m not sure which section this fits but my enquiry is related to mailing gold to another account.
My girlfriend and I have been saving up to buy her Dusk, the last part she needs for Twilight, for a while now and we’re almost at the point where we can afford it. However I wanted to ask whether if mailing her around 300 gold would flag either of our accounts for bans, due to a perceived RMT transaction?
In the past we’ve sent a lot of small mails with various amounts of gold and rare items and not hit a problem, and of course the upcoming mail will have a message involved too… but I just don’t want either of us banned, naturally.
It would be great to know beforehand, thanks.
Are you in the same guild? You could consider using the guild bank, if you felt it was secure for this sort of transaction. While a huge mail might raise a few eyebrows in the security reviews, that alone would not be at all likely to cause you to be suspended. There are many elements that are reviewed, rather than just the amount being transferred.
Best of luck with the Dusk acquisition!

Thank you for your response Nice to have the reassurance and a good idea to use the guild bank, also.
Yeah we made an alt guild of two of us to handle this stuff..
If you got the gold, it is really easy to get to the point of having a guild bank for two people to share.
Heck my kid and I have a 2 person guild and just doing the dailies and a gold here and there keeps it flowing for influence.
Aye I have an old guild with the banks unlocked, so no problem… not sure why we didn’t think of it earlier lol :/

Your phrase ‘would not be at all likely’ is worrying, given its implications.

There are humans checking the facts and humans sometimes make mistakes.
Don’t get yourself into a frenzy about this. Usually sending money or mats to friends is no problem. I am sure that there are more telltale signs to point out gold sellers. Sending something via mail is and should not triggering a ban.

I am sorry if that phrasing causes you concern. I don’t like to speak in absolutes, saying, “That will never happen.” As pointed out above, humans beings are involved in account and transaction reviews and human beings can make errors. In addition, rarely, but within the realm of possibility, a player can misdirect a mail and think we’ve taken the mis-sent goods, data can become corrupted, and an asteroid the size of a Buick can flash over Russia. Not likely, but it could happen!
So I firmly believe that things will be fine and I’m very certain that if something untoward happens, the team can sort it out.

two of my guild members were suspended briefly for sending gold via the in game mail.
case 1:
N*****s sent 200 gold to D***y, so D***y could get the achievement for having 200 gold.
D***y sent the 200 gold back to N*****s
both got suspended. they opened support tickets and got un-suspended.
case 2:
S**n’s friend sent S**n 35 gold and some tier 6 fine crafting materials in order to help S**n get his legendary short bow.
both got suspended. they opened support tickets and got un-suspended.
moral of the story:
please use the guild bank to send large amount of gold between guild members.

Both of those cases are appalling, but the latter in particular is horrifying, 35g is pocket change end-game yet the ban-bot felt the need to interrupt these players’ play over it?
Shocking.
…Shocking.
No, just regrettable errors that have been corrected.
