Today i was in an map and some idiot reported my name as insulting or contains no no words.
My name WAS: Dicidis Pennis – Which is Latin for: With dissapointing hope(s)
So i got kicked out of game and when i logged back in and i double clicked my char and this “name change” window pops up.
So my question is… What is insulting or a no no word? Most likely i tyhought about Pennis cs it looks like Pen*s. BUT it isnt the same word or meaning. So do you guys ever check the meaning of names or just brainless block it and give it a name change? Cos i really dont understand what the prob was with my name.
Oh and btw a tip for the next update: PLS make a “crap chat” for those who write useless stuff in map chat. Cos i need map chat for the events and stuff and not for the useless stuff some players write about how good a saucege is or whatever. thnx
Although, you may have different intentions, there is a rule about circumventing filters with alternate spellings. You can contact CS and appeal the decision, though likely it will stand. Choose carefully in the future.
CS agents are very busy and overworked right now dealing with problems resulting from the last patch. At a glance it looks a lot like your name is a deliberate misspelling for something a lot like “Richard’s Maleparts” so the investigating agent may have made a mistake. I suggest contacting Support and explaining the meaning behind the words and waiting for an answer from them, they may reverse the earlier decision upon consideration.
I’d understand that, but they are not busy enough to block me and give me an name change. But they need to do some research before block and name change. It’s 1 minute work to figure out what it means. But ok thats my vision.
So they didn’t ban your name for it’s Latin Translation….go figure.
If you actually put that name in and didn’t consider what it looks like in English, that’s your fault for being naive or just not very bright.
You seem to think that it’s Support’s job to investigate ALL possible translations and inferences of a name and just ASSUME that the player MUST have picked the one that didn’t violate the EULA naming rules. Even if that WAS their job (it’ not) and that assumption was TRUE (most likely NOT either), they will ban it for ANY possible violation (and the one you listed CERTAINLY falls into that category). I’ve seen plenty of names that were banned that I personally felt were a stretch to ban and that one is NOT in that group.

It’s the part in the Naming Policy that says: Use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules
Whatever the translated meaning is and regardless of what you meant by choosing it, in English is looks like an alternative spelling for male parts. Since the vast majority of people don’t speak or read Latin that is what they will think. The average person is not going to see that name and immediately think, With Disappointing Hope. Support is going to go with what the average person thinks.
Your hopes of a clever name has been disappointed.

Sorry, but if i see a name with some unknown word (Dicidis) before Pennis (what u CERTAINLY think that looks like Pen*s), than yeah i think its theyre job to figure out what the possible meaning of it is before banning that name. And yeah ive seen also names what i think how the hell is that possible to create.
