Q: Mobile Two-Factored Authentication
That would fall under the part about YOU keeping the account secure. Remember, account security is primarily YOUR responsibility. Developers add security options as a customer service exercise. Not because they have to.
If your phone is stolen, then you can simply make a ticket to ArenaNet to allow them to deactivate the authenticator and lock the account until you get a new one.
Like I said, I believe its a good idea, but if an accident accures I would like to know which steps to take and what they had in mind before I want to even think about getting the app. Eventhough its MY responsibility you cannot avoid every single player here never loosing a phone with the app on, so that was also the reason I asked.
Excer, I believe that we need to do is save a copy of the 10 “pre calculated” codes the googles allows. These are 10 one use numbers that are saved and allowed through the number check. Then if we lose our phone or the app some how, we can use some of these codes to un-tie the authenticator from the account.

I think App authentication is a good idea, but I have my “troubles” with it… Which guidelines do you have for persons that get thier smartphone/iPhone stolen? I mean, its a pretty troublesome dilemma to be in if you get it stolen or by other means loose it.
Just something that always worried me…Thanks.
I think this article from our Knowledge Base would help you: https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9238/kw/mobile%20authentication/session/L3RpbWUvMTM1MDI2MjQwNy9zaWQvejdTeXZLOGw%3D
To quote: Visit Account Recovery to unlink your authenticator. You can also unlink the authenticator at any time by logging in to Account Management and proceeding to the Security section. Please note that to log in while two-factor authentication is configured on your account, you will need to have access to your mobile device.
