I bought this game last night and joined the wrong world. I was FORCED to delete my character before switching (without being extorted out of more money) and now I’ve lost my items.

i’ve never played an MMO before and didn’t understand. Saying it’s my fault may be true, but it’s NOT HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS.

this will be the last cent they get from me if they don’t fix this. I sure hope me and my 2 real life friends don’t have to choose a different MMO to play over such a trivial and FIXABLE issue.

I’ll let you guys know what support says, but from the sounds of it that update will be confirming i got the shaft….

Wow! No one is forced to delete their characters. It’s an option, graciously given, to avoid the cost of transferring.

CS is very good about replacing deleted items from new accounts. I’m sure you will get your items back, as long as you have submitted a request using the web-form found above. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.

If you would rather play elsewhere, good luck on your adventures.

I don’t know what forum threads you have read, but I’ve never seen one where new accounts items were not restored.

I do hope the tone of your request was a bit more amicable, though. Good luck.

No forum threads mentioned new accounts. I’m happy to hear the company understands the difference.

My tone reflects that of a frustrated NEW USER who has spent the better part of 12 hours just trying to START playing the game. If I worked there I’d view it as valuable feedback with respect to effectively retaining NEW BUSINESS.

Get people playing faster. I could have been playing within 2-4 hours if i WASN’T a moron but that could still be improved. If my friend hadn’t gone to bed i wouldn’t have joined the wrong world!

My support request was more professional than a flaming forum post… yes… lol.

also, swifter support requests would result in less time waiting/venting in forums. I’d be glad to post " they fixed it" and never see this forum again!

We were able to verify the loss you reported. Please understand that we will not be able to restore the Heroic Edition items for you again, so please be very careful with them. You will find your replacement items in your in-game mailbox.

the flip side to doing business right is I’m now morally obligated to BUY EVERY GOSH DARN EXPANSION THEY PUT OUT NOW, lol

I’m glad it worked out for you. In the future please make sure you put all your items in your bank before character deletion. Just some friendly advice.

We get you are frustrated by the situation, but this issue could have been handled with a bit more tact. The fact that Anet has your money for the game purchase, is being rude and obnoxious really your best bet to get this fixed? You need to submit a ticket and Support can likely help you, but the attitude is not helpful in the least.

Well, glad to see it got sorted in your favor. Anet’s policies are usually pretty fair.

I understand and sympathize with your frustration, and I am glad that things sorted out for you (and I’m proud that they were resolved so quickly).

To be clear to others who might read this thread, the option of making a free world transfer is offered if your delete all your characters. If you do that, please make sure you move your items to storage, as anything on the character will do away.
