Second timed hacked in 2 weeks

I logged in this afternoon to find out that someone’s already logged into my account again. Had to change passwords for the account and the support account, as well as reinstating the authenticator. My scanners detected no malware, viruses, or anything else that may compromise my account information. So what gives? I’m an intelligent adult and I know how complicated I need to make my passwords.
Yes, I’ve already put in another ticket. I’m just annoyed that I’d have to get my account restored again, unless it was only a 1 time thing. I’m already losing interest in this game because of the first hacked attempt. Starting from semi-scratch, after a year’s play, isn’t what I want.
Something is obviously compromised on your system or within your email. (Yes, I know it does not show up, but that seems clear and I assure you there isn’t a compromise within the GW2 systems.)
Please update your ticket and ask for help from our Technical Support Team. They have tools and tips for securing things and they’ll be happy to help you.

Did you change your password for your e-mail account? If you didn’t receive any messages about someone attempting to login from an unknown IP, it means that your e-mail account has also been compromised.
Second possibility. Are you sharing your account with anyone else? A sibling, roommate, girlfriend/boyfriend? Don’t discount the possibility that someone in your house is logging into your account when you’re not around and selling/transferring your stuff to their account. It’s lame, but it HAS happened.
Have you checked to make sure your email account has not been compromised? Someone with some bad intentions and a bit of know how can get into an email account and start digging up usernames and passwords for all sorts of accounts the owner has.
If you even think there is a slight chance your email has been compromised I would strongly suggest changing the password for every site you use starting with the password for the email itself.
I’ve changed all of my email passwords. I’m using passwords I’ve never used before. I do not share my account with anyone. The guy I live with is my boyfriend and he’s not even into these types of games.
The only password I have been unable to change yet is the NCSoft master account. Says my email is not valid. I don’t even get the email to reset the password after putting in the answers to the secret questions.
I appreciate the intelligent response from you all. x_x

I’ve been compromised before as well. I think the way it went was because of the phishing email that showed up in my inbox. I thought my account was really compromised and clicked on the link (thus compromising my account).
Make sure that with these kind of emails, the link is correct. Gaile Gray has posted a message about it somewhere in the forum.
And, like you already have, make sure both the email you use to authenticate the login attempts and the GW2 login have new passwords you don’t use anywhere else.
I hope you’ll find a solution!

Ok as stated, It is a security problem at your end of the line. This is not something Arenanet can help you with.
I suspect you are using different unique passwords for your email and for your GW2 account and that both are not used on other locations on the internet?
The Last possibility I can think of is that your computer is the problem. The most likely thing is that a hacker installed a keylogger. No matter how many times you change your password then, the hacker has records of everything you typed on your keyboard and so also the new password. I know this is a lot of work but could you do the following:
Backup your important documents and photo’s.
Reinstall windows (all data is lost after this point.
Install your anti virus program
Install other things like hardware drivers
Install GW2 and your email, but do not log in
Change your emailpassword
Change your GW2 password
Now login.
Install all other programs and games you want/need
restore the earlier made back up.
If you have a smart phone (apple, android or windows) you might want to start using the mobile authenticator (‘my account’ on this page and then ‘security’).
I know its a lot of work, but even if you now go to a different online game and you have a keylogger active, the hacker will know that password too.
