Hello,

I haven’t been on GW2 since Christmas, not even the site. I’ve also had a new computer since so I don’t even have it downloaded.

Today I got a e-mail for a login attempt.

Address: 183.160.120.207
City: Hefei
Region: 01
Country: CN

This is from China. I’ve been scared that I might have a virus, but as I said, I’ve not done anything to do with Guild Wars since Christmas, and everything else is fine.

The e-mail is also very legit.

Someone tried to log into your account. That is why you got the email.

Best thing to do is change your password for both your email and the game. Also do a scan for keyloggers and such.

You might wanna download the game and check it’s still the way you left it around Christmas.

Yeah. Looks like they have your information. They are trying to get in but the IPs authorization is stopping them. Like SandraSolace said, I would run a security scan then change my email and password.

I agree with the advice you have been given. Some of your credentials are known — change things around so that those who have been attempting this cannot continue to do so.

The best is to change your whole email address for GW2, I also had these messages on my main address.. And it is clearly compromised.

Just create a separate GW2 email address with an unique password and you will be fine.

Yes, I actually do recommend changing the log-in name, with the help of support, and using a new, unique, used-nowhere-else email account for Guild Wars 2. That makes a lot of sense.
