Hmm, that sucks at least mine says for “Inappropriate Language” but maybe it’s because mine’s just a suspension. Good luck though, there are people who have been waiting over a week to hear about getting their perma-bans resolved.
Yah, I honestly don’t think I did anything against the rules…. All I did was click a world in the world vs world browser then I got crashed to the desktop. Now, it keeps showing that message… I’ve spent so much on gems plus the cost of the game. I’m just frustrated I put so much of my real money into this game only to get a perma-ban. Not bashing this awesome game or anything, because this is the best game I have played… but when I put a lot of time and money in the game and get rewarded with an unjustly ban. I just can’t help but complain a little.

Tried logging in today after work and my account has been banned for 3 days for a racial slur. I have not said anything at all that would get me banned. my brother told me today he logged in and was being rune…guess thats what i get for saving my password and account name. but if there was any way to be unsuspended for a mistake i didnt make would be cool

If it’s your account and not his, I suggest changing your password and not giving him access to your account, assuming he really is the one who made the racial slur.
A second infraction might cost you a 14-day suspension.

Yea we need to be heard ! They should have been prepared for this, i didn’t see any errors when i paid for the game or when i bought gems.. game mechanics quickly responded to my payments.
Its acridness that they don’t even have a number we can contact them at.

That’s nothing, I was banned for 2 weeks for “racial slurs” due to my character name, which i asked in advance to change. Hang in there though, I assume they are having tech support issues and i expect them to compensate the unfair/unjustly accused.

“These people” is right. If “these people” wouldn’t use offensive chat or names then they’d not be suspended for using offensive chat or names.
At least you are willing to recognize that whatever you said was stupid. Next time don’t say it. lol Or at least say it verbally. Don’t type it out, not even in /say. Be lazy like me and use your mouth instead of your fingers. Easier that way.
Some folks refuse to acknowledge that their chat comments or names are offensive, so I’d be willing to bet they’ll do the same thing again. And again.

well and here is my fear, that i someday do get my account back after being hacked and something happens that could be misconstrued in a bad way. i’m reading of cases on reddit and stuff about people having no real reason for a ban but they got one anyway. i of course understand that i’m just hearing their side of the story, but still, i don’t like dealing with this.
for some people $60 is a lot of money and the stress of feeling like i tossed it out the window is stressful. i could’ve used that money for many other things but instead i used it to play a game to pass some time and enjoy myself. i don’t like the idea of paying monthly. heck, it could’ve been an offline game. at least then i don’t have to worry about being banned. but i thought i’d give it a try and now i am stuck with nothing and i am constantly checking my email in hopes that when i get home from work i can escape into Anet’s beautiful world that they created.
what’s worse is that yesterday we were hearing all kinds of news saying that they were stepping up the restore process and taking care of those of us that were hacked. and all day today it has been hush-hush.
anyway, sorry, i am venting a bit. i’m not a rage-gamer, i’m typically a quiet family guy. but this is starting to get under my skin.

Serious, post my complete chat history and show the community how easy it is to get banned.
I would avoid using general chat completely. On Saturday my first step is to make a new chat channel devoid of general. I’m never speaking in chat again in Gw2. They will ban you for any innuendo no matter how harmless.
Just imagine while playing Gw2 that you work in a large corporation that has a HR department that will fire you for talking to any females in the office. Best to just not talk to females, you never know how someone might take a off hand comment or flirtation.
The older I get the more I realize that it’s best to avoid other people as much as possible.

I checked online and no one logged into my account but my self. Plus, as I had said already; it happened suspiciously literally milliseconds after I clicked a world in the WvW menu thing.
And it happens to people as they are crafting, or using the AH, or running around in a pve zone, or whatever. It’s coincidence. People don’t get banned for just using the ah, or just crafting, or just entering a wvw zone.
There was a post somewhere saying that if someone else logged into your account it wouldn’t necessarily show up in that list. I don’t remember the details about that post, unfortunately. In any case, my hunch remains that your account was compromised.

I’m sure it’s my email address from another game. I got my account compromised on another game in the past. What I find crazy is that when a new game comes out they go looking to see if I got it. Then proceed to try to get into that account. I suppose I could create a new email address for each game I play.
Either way I’m quite curious about how attempts like this are not stopped when it’s obvious it’s not me. As much as we would all love to be able to teleport….If i’m in U.S one min no way I can be in china 10 minutes later. :P

My account was hacked sometime in the beginning of the week (and banned while the hacker was at it) and haven’t been able to play since monday (7.9.2012). I have tried to reach your support team via incident tickets at the support site (have made three of them now), and by telling several times what has happened on your twitter and Facebook sites. I haven’t gotten any response from anywhere yet, and now I found this place to try my luck.

Where the most top is the latest. My friends are level 80 already and are losing the starter-shine on the game, which means a big minus on my gaming experience.

All parties involved were most likely sure of this, despite this it seems that ArenaNet thinks it’s plausible to give no warning besides a ToS. They’re in their right to do so, but hey, whatever.
If you type it in an area where others can read it, you can be reported. If you trust your friend 100% then use /whisper. But keep in mind your friend can still report you.
Best option is to get a voice program and just use that to bash each other. Faster, easier, and no suspensions.

Actually your best option is to not talk to much to anyone. Just remember that the friend your talking to could report you without ever mentioning it.
It’s Mccarthyism at it’s finest. You can’t get banned if you never use the chat features. I feel like this is the 1950’s Russia of video game chats. Any friend could be a spy in disguise who is resentful of something you said.
Your best off just never using chat all together. That’s the safest approach with a company this hyper strict.

Is this not how you do it? Well my ticket has all these details. Although i typed it in English, not sure if you require it in Chinese or kitten Sanskrit.
All the details that are required, are mentioned in my ticket, then why the kitten is it over 4 days and still i have no reply.
Stop misleading people through wiki that you are solving hacked account issues in 72 hours and actually start working on it. Only 2 out of every 10 people are saying their problems are getting solved, rest of us are still where we were a week ago. My ticket is 4 days old and no action has been taken upon it.
Give me a phone no. so i can call and get this problem solved or give my account back to me today. If it was anyother MMO , this would have been resolved within 1 hour.
This is plainly ridiculous.

Had an account from the original Guild Wars, and on this past Sunday purchased GW2, reset my password, which is 10 characters (since changed to more characters and increased complexity).
My e-mail address requires 2-factor authentication and have never had any issues with it.
Last night at almost midnight get an e-mail authorization to log in from Hefei China.
I just don’t see how someone could crack my password in that amount of time. I have up-to-date Kaspersky AV & Malwarebytes actively running and have NEVER had any issues with any other games, logins, credit card numbers, or anything.
Anyone have anything to say about this? From my perspective it seems like these people either have a way to bypass the password authentication or have access to a table with passwords.
Please, give me an alternative scenario in which they got my password after 2 days.

My account has been hacked since the 1st. To no response, I was double charged and obtained two serial codes. I didn’t even notice it and gave them the serial code that I wasn’t using (This account) that I created on the 5th after the Customer Service rep told me that the serial wasn’t in use. I thought if I put the serial code in, I would be able to log back in.
Not only have I lost my 53 Necromancer, but I was double charged and still waiting for a refund. For the 2nd serial code that they charged me for. All I’ve wanted to do was play with my guild members that I have been with for years. But, I’m sadly losing major faith in the assistance and support of the company.

Is there any chance of a bit of support I’ve submitted my tickets had a response on here but I’m still banned no emails since last one wich was days ago. So much for a quick response is the team actualy sorting anything out how long are we ment to wait in limbo. If this had been a normal game or an item and it didn’t work for this length of time I’d be asking for my money back days ago!!!

Hi,
After my first ticket 31st of august, I’m still banned.
The reactivation of my account has been delayed 3 times
- 1st of september, you asked me to answer that I’ll delete all objects and currency, though I had already said that in my ticket.
- 3rd of september, you tell me that my account will be reactivated within 72h
- 5th of september, you tell me it will take 48h more
Today, I’m still banned. I know customer service is overcharged, but i’m really worried when I see I’m one of the least still not unbanned.

I followed the instructions, and my first post in this thread outline the details that i have mentioned in my ticket. This is what i gathered from the support’s instructions to priorities the ticket. Am I missing something? Is there something wrong with my ticket? Did i forget to mention something?
Or if everything is ok then why is it almost 5 days now and I haven’t received a single reply? Specially when wiki is saying that any tickets that are older than 72 hours may not be properly prioritised.
Please look at my first post in this topic and give me some feedback. I want to get my account back, this whole thing shouldn’t have taken more than an hour, instead its almost 5 days now. Some poor guys are waiting for more than a week, this is ridiculous, come on get back to us.

The point is that some of the banned accounts are correct ban, but most of them are a mistake or hacked accounts.
I think the “system” here, has to protect and garantee a good game experience for honest players and than catch/punish or whatever, the incorrect players, and you can do this only making double triple checks before banning someone.
Not banning AOE around and than make people wait 7days just to have a reply from “the support”. Maybe you can “freeze” the account for 24h to check if there are exploits or hacks but ONLY if you know you can check in few hours…. not 1week!
The only support i found untill now is the autoresponse system on my ticket.
If we are too many and the “support” can’t act quickly with everyone, than just make a clear, exhaustive official post/news with the real “point of situation” of what is happening and true time of waiting for “honest” players… customers.

Just curious if anyone knows whether Arena Net are responding to support tickets relating to accounts that are “terminated” for trying to purchase or sell items for real world money? I lodged a ticket 6 days ago and updated it 5 days ago, identifying it as a banned account in accordance with the procedures that were posted on the wiki (since i do not know whether it has been hacked or if my termination was just an oversight, i did not list it as a hacked account).
If anyone from Arena Net looks at this please look at ticket 120902-004258, i would love to get back into the game, withdrawal symptoms have included doing uni work and sleeping too much!

I have no idea what else we can do. I locked an issue a couple of days ago. I got absolutely no reply, not even a confirmation of receipt. I have onlyplayed this game for 5 minutes. I logged on to check it was installed. The next time I logged on I was banned. I pre-ordered the game early to get the early access. My ticket number is: 120904-010760
Please would someone just acknowledge that they have actually received me support ticket. I think I have been quote patient but this is getting beyond ridiculous. I am looking at all the good publicity that GW2 is getting on the internet and don’t think it is warranted yet because of all the issues occurring.
Please would someone from ANET just respond to let me know you are aware of my ticket.

i’d reupdate the ticket and make sure they know you can’t log in so I’d change it to blocked login I think that’s the one they said to use other than hacked for prioritizing
