First, with all due respect, this ticket is just two days old, not three. When it is three days old, you may post for your friend in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
Secondly, the player is given a reason for the suspension, although at times that can be vague. A very common reason for a “suspension” is to lock down an account that we believe has been hacked, or is in jeopardy of being compromised. This is done to try to limit damage to an account, and those who ultimately realize the reason for the block are generally grateful for the pro-active block, as it can sometimes prevent the theft of valuable items and gold.
A second common reason for a suspension or a termination is payment fraud. This can be related to the credit card not passing fraud prevention measures. These issues can usually be sorted out by contacting the Support Team, so if this is what impacted your friend’s account, they will take care of him.
And please, if he has not been helped by tomorrow, and if you post in the thread (tomorrow or later), simply provide the number and an abbreviated request for assistance. A synopsis rather than a lengthy post allows us to help more players in a given period of time.

Hi Gaile,
I apologize if the post was lengthy but I wanted someone to understand where I was coming from. Secondly, the ticket I sent in was on January 16th, got a response on the 17th and updated my question on the 17th. It is now the 19th. Wouldn’t a ticket being posted on the 16th and now being the 19th constitute as being 3 days?
As for the reason, this pops up “our Guild Wars 2 Account has been suspended for an account issue. Please contact support for information”. Is this what you mean by the player is given a reason for suspension?
I am just trying to get some answers
P.S I’m sorry if my post seems sarcastic, it is not my intention. These are all honest questions.
Reason: Account Issue.
Meaning there is something wrong with the account. It could be a fraudulent code or credit card or similar. The issue is with your account (the details not the characters or any in-game feature). It seems detailed enough to pursue contact with support.
A ticket posted at the very end of the 16th would not hit 3 days until the very end of the 19th, just as an example of how a ticket might not be 3 days old yet.

Not only are they not helping us to regain access to our accounts but they wont even grant us the common courtesy of explaining the reason for the ban. You paid for this product and you deserve to have access as much as anyone else. I’m pulling out my hair because of how frustrating this situation is. I hate to say it but Arena net has worse support than EA. Atleast EA allowed me to talk to a real person on the phone and solved my account issue in under a day.

8 people out of hundreds of thousands of players worldwide. This doesn’t seem like a wide spread problem to me.

Your reasoning is like saying only a few people die of rabies every year so it’s not a problem. I guess it only becomes a problem when it affects you? In that case, I hope it happens to you so you can feel the frustration and lack of help from ArenaNet. Imagine not being able to post on these forums (except through a friend) and when you send in tickets you don’t get helped.

My friend’s sister was hacked, and it took Anet all of 30 minutes to get her back in game. Plus there’s the account restorations now. Even if someone were to get into my account, I have full confidence in Anet to help me.
As for myself, I deleted my character on day one, and lost my Deluxe items. Anet got those back for me after I filed a Support ticket.
As long as you answer their questions, and provide as much detail as possible, there’s no need for worry. It’s when you start filing tickets for stuff like “other guy scammed me” or “I deleted my items by mistake” that cause your ticket get /facepalmed
This same thing happened to me, I was suspended for 3 days yet I was never given evidence of what I did wrong so therefore I assume I did nothing wrong and I was suspended for no reason whatsoever. I did not expect this kind of un-professionalism from Arenanet. This is possibly the worst enforcement team I have ever seen in my history of gaming (and that’s saying ALOT). I am STILL waiting on evidence as to why I was suspended yet I am getting NOTHING. How professional of Arenanet.. Don’t ban someone in the first place if you can’t show proof. If there’s no evidence there’s no crime.
I find this interesting they assist hacked people, and so forth but not new customers who’s cards don’t pass “Fraud Prevention Methods.” Explain to me this. I call:
1-800-869-3557 or 1-800-TO-WELLS (Wells Fargo) and follow the prompts to get a CSR on the phone. She waits with me while I’m in-game after I explain how I can’t buy gems and attempted to do so twice. I try a third time (Mind you this was 3-4 days ago) and says she did not see it hit my account and says it’s the vendor. Says not a thing is wrong with my card and I should contact the vendor. Now, keeping that in mind, two days ago (three tomorrow or in 2.5 hours) I was suspended and refunded because of these “Fraud Prevention Measures”
So, moving to today, I go to Amazon….buy the game….link it to my account….still suspended….
????
And somehow it’s 3502 and not 3501.
