Switching very fast between two accounts?
Why do you make it so complicated. I have 3 GW1 accounts. For each one I produced a link on my desktop. As far as I know the same is possible with GW2. They have about the same parameters to do it.
Just call one link “Mom” and the other one “Dad”.
Just be aware that this is a security issue. You take the risk, you carry the responsibility!
Here the link to the wiki for the information needed.

I think Michael has made a very useful suggestion. Can you give it a try (while keeping in mind that if it makes your refrigerator blow up, it’s not on us. )

Because you guys have no means of accessing our refrigerators… right?

Sadly, no.

You sure? Some of them now are wifi-enabled.

If they could that old prank phone call joke about your refrigerator running would be very funny since they could actually make it happen.
CaeIndru.9126 did the above solution work for you?
Michael, it’s working, thank you
But when I press “Log Out” (no matter if I’m in the character selection screen or in-game) I can see my desktop for a second followed by a black screen with the game cursor in it. It’s like the game is trying to log in back.
Otherwise, “Exit to Desktop” runs ok, except that this option isn’t available in the character selection screen, only in-game.
I think it’s possible to create a C:\User2\My Documents\Guild Wars 2, a new location where to create another local.dat which will be used by the same launcher via a command line parameter, or used by a different launcher (tied with the second game client).
But I don’t know how -local.dat parameter is working. I can’t understand the explanation from here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments#-localdat
“Log Out” keeps the launcher coming back. At least that is what it is doing. So when I switch or want to switch between accounts, that is the way it can be done. Only “Exit…” should be terminating the game completely. But there is a bug in it for some people (for me too) that keeps the game client in memory and we have to kill it through the task manager. I don’t know if this is a problem for you too. Thus I just mention it.
The -localdat parameter is having no special effects according the wiki. It’s just working like the -dat parameter.
I’m a lazy person. If a solution works and there are only minor problems, I would be satisfied with the result. According your answer the prescribed solution works. The problems are minor. And so I would be happy with it.
I tried this but the Trading Post doesn’t work for me when I use —email myname@myprovider.com -password 12345 -nopatchui
I can’t Sell and trying to Buy produces error “The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time….”
Does it work for you?
Michael, thank you for explanations.
Wex, I have the same problem. “You must log in to view this page” – this is the message when I want to browse any section of Trading Post, except the “Pick Up” window.
There are other people who have the same problem with the trading post. If it is connected to this kind of getting into the game, nobody knows about it. It could be just another problem unrelated to the login.
Actually, the problem was posted before:
