I am actually quite worried, it seems i am in the same boat as the OP of the below post link, except that i don’t think iv’e been hacked. could still log in fine until i got booted with a blocked message flashing on my screen whilst running event chains in Orr.

I also play with a Razer Naga, yet i’ve gone though the code of conduct and can’t see how this is modifying/tampering with the game to a devestating extent that undermines the GW2 community.

It actually makes me angry reading the above linked post because i know i have done nothing wrong myself, yet Anet seem adamant of terminating this guys account, when i too myself have 3 lvl 80s (no legendarys yet), but still alot of time and effort invested to tamper/modify the game. And tbh, wouldn’t have the first clue how to, nor have witnessed in game a ‘Tamperer’. I mean, i used to hear about people in WvW chat on ppl teleporting into bases without a mesmer, but never saw it myself.

I am intrigued though to what i was doing that was justifiable of a permanent ban. Unless it was the huge amount of item traffic on the TP, i buy cheap items and flip for a profit and run chain events while i wait for items to buy/sell. But i learnt that through a reputable guide site and thought this method was common knowledge and only tapping into the in game economy and not modifying the game to generate my own gold.

There was something else unusual, which was an invisible Risen mob i often tab targeted to, but thats how i play, constantly tabbing to tag multiple enemies for loot, other than that, im out of ideas on how i got a permanent ban.

I have never cheated in a game since a button code in Black ops 1 on xbox.

may it be that you linked a sequence of commands to one or more of your mousebuttons instead just one command per button?
e.g. button 1: skill1-skill3-skill5 <→button 1:s kill 1, button 2: skill2

Nah, just skills 1>5 i use on the naga, the utilities and elite i have hotkeyed to Shift, ctrl, alt. But 1 button = 1 skill/ability.

Didn’t think it would be possible to cast sequence like WoW macros anyway. Can a naga do that?

What were the exact words of the ban message?. Usually it’s more than one thing listed which may mean it wasn’t for modifying the game but something else.

“Your Guild Wars 2 Account has been Terminated for modifying or tampering with the game, which is a breach of the user agreement and rules of conduct. this action is permanent.”

First off all don’t see the outcome of one support ticket as the outcome of the other. You will have to wait to see what yours is.

In the topic you linked both support and the support liason who reviewed it where abokittenly certain without a doubt that the person did what he claimed he didn’t do. I know the support liason well enough that she only reacts in such ways if she is abokittenly sure. Unfortunally some people think they can get away with anything when they lie hard enough.

Your case is currently in the process of reviewing. So it can be that you are right and the suspension was in error. Please be patient and ignore that other post

Maybe you used a 3rd party software to make the mapping on your mouse.
Any program you use to change/modify stuff in-game is forbidden. If you have changed the key configuration in-game, then wait until you have more info from the ticket.

@Hoegarden, i don’t know what you mean by mapping on my mouse. The only external software i have for my games is Ventrillo and curse (for WoW addons – 100% legal), which i haven’t used for a while.

@mercury, i guess you’ve calmed me down since you’ve put it that way. Iv’e been searching for posts like mine to see what is causing this, all to negative outcomes and i get upset because most of the appeals seem very sincere. I just hope it some bug with the new update

They do make mistakes sometimes in banning people. If its a mistake you should get reinstated soon.

there are programs for razor who can map key’s to a mouse button. Even if they are legal, you can’t use any program for gw2

same here just got my account terminated all i can say is maybe they log what i do this last few weeks and i just run , jump and it looks like a bot but since i’m bored in the game and just chatting with my guild mates in-game and in vent dunno i hope this got lifted asap

Please show the people posting here some respect. The OP is claiming he didn’t do anything and arenanet gives room for appealing a decission to terminate an account. So it might turn out the OP is not guilty.

Besides that, the OP isn’t accused or banned for hacking but for using third-party tools. These tools are often used for farming or for gaining other advantage wich you couldn’t get without those tools.

Well maybe (and this is all very hypothetical ) that the OP just turned his story to his favor ? How can we know that he isn’t telling us the fact that he actually used something ? Nobody is going to tell that on a public forum. We are all humans and that is what we all do. Are you telling your boss every mistake you do at your work ? Or when you skip a lesson at school, do you go see the director and tell him/her that you skipped class and went out to drink a beer ? No, we would just come up with a story that sounds pretty plausible and realistic so that they actually believe that what you did wrong was not your fault/choice.

The only people who can say he didn’t do anything is arenanet. We can only ask the player if he used some kind of program or any other thing he may have done to get banned. But in the end, we can’t decide to unban the person.

Yah, maybe so. But ANet is also known to make mistakes and terminate accounts which are then reinstated. A thread last month had one guy who was banned and reinstated several times within a short time. I got a termination and then was reinstated 27 hours later because they made a mistake. So coming here and calling him a hacker is rude. He may be guilty and he may be innocent. However YOU don’t know he is guilty.
